I like audiobooks on audible and my free trial has expired, I forgot to save some files through libation, so now, where can I pirate the audiobooks on audible?

  1. Audiobook bay doesn't have the books I need
  2. PirateBay has the book but not the same voice (I am a sucker for this man's voice, I even said as much in the review)

I want to auto start Termux and KDE Connect whenever I reboot. I basically need to launch android applications Termux and KDE connect while my Samsung phone starts and it can't do it by itself, so, I want a app like MacroDroid which is opensource.

edited the heading of the question. I think most of us here are reasoning why more people are not using firefox (because it was the initial question), but none of that explains why it's actively losing marketshare.

I don't agree ideologically with Firefox management and am somewhat of a semi-conservative (and my previous posts might testify to that), I think Firefox browser is absolutely amazing! It's beautiful and it just feels good. It has awesome features like containers. It's better for privacy than any mainstream browser out there (even counting Brave here) and it has great integration between PC and Phone. It's open-source (unlike Chrome) and it supports a good chunk of extensions you would need.

This was about PC, but I believe even for Mobiles it looks great and it allows features like extensions (and I hear desktop extensions are coming to firefox android?), it's just a great ecosystem and it's available everywhere unlike most FOSS softwares.

So why is Firefox's market share dying?

I mean, I have a few ideas why it might be, maybe correct me I guess?

  1. Most people don't know how to use extensions well and how to use Firefox well. (Most of my friends in their 30's still live without ad blockers, so I don't think many are educated here)
  2. It's just not as fast as Chrome or Brave. I can't deny this, but despite of this, I find it's worthy.
  3. It's not the default.
  4. Many features which are Google specific aren't supported.
  5. Many websites are just not supporting firefox anymore (looking at you snapchat), but you would be right in saying this is the effect of Firefox losing it's market share not the cause (at least for now) and you would be right.

But what else?

I might take time (a lot of it) to get back at you, thanks for understanding.

occasionally I’ll find websites that don’t work 100% because they were coded primarily for chromium based browsers. FU Google

Just pass the pdf file into an OCR.

I am tying to convert a presentation file, this won't work

lol it's mainly about piracy, I didn't want it to be tracked back to me. This instance has really been good to me, idk!

I might carry this on as my main account to bring some resistance between me and lemmy

I am a bot and I can confirm that it has made it easy for us.

You are right of c, but Idk, do bots really want to enter this instance and even if they do, won't they be detected easily.

indeed! say that again!

I want to take a crash course in Fediverse. I was browsing stuff on Mastadon and voila! I found these communities on Mastadon but I wasn't able to post anything, but I was however able to reply to stuff. I don't know how this works. I won't be reading it now, but I want to know more about Fediverse, so a book or documentary, something really detailed would help (just don't send me a website please :')

The reddit post is the most detailed and I do know how to save using the java script, but again, as the OP on reddit said, I too am having problems with resolution, it's not that good, but in the absence of everything it's acceptable.

The files I want to download have text, contents which I want to search through and it isn't possible if I take screenshots of them.

Is the screenshoting java script the best we can do so far in downloading drive view only files?

PS: After consulting a fellow community member, I tried Jdownloader2, unfortunately, it didn't work for me.

hey, no need to fuss about it ig

I mean, you have done enough

meanwhile, it didn't work for me on android, I did read the reddit post you are referring to, but it doesn't work for me. Again, thank you!

I have created another post, let's hope there is a better way to download view on drive files. have a good day you!

you know I had the exact same question, this did work for me but I wanted the text in the pdf to conserved, not sure if there is any other option than this. Anyway, gonna create another post quoting this post.

Who are you, why are you so wise in the ways of science?

Haha, I actually knew about the script but it's somewhat not clear and you get images instead of text, which is good, but I wish I could download it with text so I can search math topics I want to study in the search bar and get it.

Unfortunately, JDownloader2 (which I installed after reading your comment) didn't work for me(image) You reckon I should create a post anyway?

Does anyone think this number can be more than what's being reported? If I am not wrong, some Linux users are very privacy concerned and probably might not like to scream to the world that they are using Linux, it can't be 1% or anything like that, but I reckon it's greater than 0.1% of desktop users

thank you very much! I actually discovered that these pdfs are uploaded through google drive and set to view only, so Imma try to break that, I can take screenshots now. I don't need this anymore, but I am gonna try it anyway. Thank you again!

I mean, I just love this instance. I wanted to ask a question on a community I didn't want traced back to me and I opened my tor browser and just freaking created an account here without having to answer questions and without having to provide an email and posted a post within 5 mins! I don't know of any other lemmy instance which lets me do that. Well done to the person who created this instance, I love it and imma stay on it.
