Sounds like you should have taken his phone away when everyone else had finished, or before that, since he was distracting others. Also sounds like the assignment wasn't challenging enough for him.

Random book, even one mentioned in the article, along with anecdotes by the author, lists more and better studies than the 1,317 studies scoped by the Queensland University of Technology? Doubt.

If I could just get it to stop tagging Liquor Stores as significant landmarks while I'm driving, that would be great. Otoh, if it tricks people into Liquor Store detours, wouldn't that be a fun Congressional Inquiry?

I remember people giving Biden shit for smelling his granddaughter's head, right in that spot in the middle of the scalp that always smells like a newborn baby. People make me so sad for the little wholesome things its obvious they missed out on, so they label it "predatory".

Actually, it is a driver's job to avoid and/or mitigate a wreck by any means necessary. The only mental gymnastics taking place are yours. You're arguing against the wording of multiple driver's manuals.

They are counting on you to not show up in court.

Last time(20 years ago) I got a valid out-of-state ticket though, the fees and whatnot were less than 20% of what I expected. One criteria where Illinois is cheaper than Indiana, it turns out.

I've heard this from cops I knew, as a more general rule; No one around here drives less than five over unless they are drunk, stoned, or into some shady shit.
