Finally! I have been interesting in developing some apps for personal use, but I don’t want to pay a developer fee and go through the App Store. It’s so much hassle.

In fact, I had that issue with something but I’m drawing a blank at the moment. It’s truly annoying.

I might be misremembering, but I think there was a time when you had to install something for exact to be recognized by the system.

I think we are past having to do that now though.

The same thing could be said about games in the early days of wine and proton. Now most thing run without any trouble.

I don’t really understand your problem, but steam automatically recognized my external hard drive. In addition to that, it also recognizes my network attached drive and I can just load games from my nas.

Both of your downsides are just things you think. Let’s wait a few years and see what the software can do.

There is a video somewhere of someone using it to play Skyrim on an old android. I don’t think it’s a bad as you believe it to be.

Just yesterday, I looked for a tool to encrypt files in Dropbox.

I couldn’t remember the name, so I searched “encrypt files in drop box.”

Every single link on the first page was to the official site. I had to guess at the name of the software to find its site.

Did he try to intervene with any of them?

Check out box86. There are videos of people running various games with it.

I posted a link in this thread of someone playing world of Warcraft on a pi 4.

I’m not saying that it’s ready to go today, but in a few years it will be great. Especially if valve develops for it the way they did it it proton.

I agree that translation layers will slow things down, but I don’t think it will be too terribly slow especially as more powerful chips come out.

Yeah! Emulators work great! I almost only play emulators. Just about every popular emulator is also on Linux. There is nothing you will miss out on.

My switch pro controller, and Xbox one controller, connect without any problems. Most controllers should work fine, but I can’t speak from experience.

Just get Linux Mint. They have 4 versions, but the cinnamon version is their flagship. Its layout is decently similar to windows.

Linux mint is often referred to as a beginner distro, but there is nothing you can’t do on it that another distro can do.

I have had a few Linux servers for work and personal stuff, and I still use Linux mint.

If you have any more questions please let me know. I’m happy to help.

In regard to following rules and making the “right” choice, he is the worst captain.

Of course he always wins, but sometimes he should just say, “This is too risky.” Or “This is completely against protocol.”

What has stopped you so far?

I’m happy to answer any questions you may have. I’m a long time exclusive Linux gamer.
