Can you give some more details about which wires you would run? Is cat 6 good enough for the future, or is there something better?

My only problem with this is that the docks are like $300. I guess igpus are getting good enough that I’ll probably never need a dgpu again.

Still surprised how well the steamdeck can handle resident evil 4 remake.

I really don’t need better graphics than that. In fact, they don’t even need to be that good.

Makes me wonder if this is a possible future. Just get a small nuc like computer and connect it to an egpu.

I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s true. But in my mind, Linux gaming is basically perfect.

Luckily, I’m not into the kind of games that don’t work on Linux.

I think Apple dropped some stuff that would make it so 32 but apps wouldn’t work and a ton of games are 32 bit apps. But I’m not sure if they actually did that or just talked about it.

Cows: Please don’t eat me…

Capitalists: Yeah, sorry this tool doesn’t work. Guess we should just write it off.

I think this is because the reason to get people to get back into office was to protect commercial real estate values.

Now that the third tallest tower in LA sold for 45% its previous selling price, the dominoes have started to fall.

Now, it will be about getting people to work from home and trying to get out of these buildings as they are a failed investment.

So we are going to start seeing companies “offer” to let people work from home. They may even ask you to take a pay cut or something for the privilege.

This is just my prediction and I’m not an expert in these fields. So take this with a grain of salt.

If you are working in an office by force and they offer to let you work from home with a pay cut, I’d hold out a few months as they may start forcing people to work from home at full pay.

Thanks! I kinda assumed that it wouldn’t. But I also know how telecoms try to charge for everything.

I’m really happy to be reading your posts. I kind of forgot about the xps line and have been wanting a “cleaner” computer and something with better hardware.

I was looking at Mac’s but you get so little for the money you spend on them.

I think it’s similar cost with the xps line, but you get at least double the ram and storage.

I’ll probably go the XPS 15 when I’m ready to upgrade at this point.

I also would have random issues with that district each time I’ve tried it. Usually it’s due to some instructions for Ubuntu not working properly. But it’s still a bit annoying.

I just priced one out and you get about double the ram and 2-4x the storage space of the air.

So, while I agree they are expensive, they are nowhere near MacBook pricing. Mac pricing is insane.

Also there are two different body styles and one is like $400 more but the specs I think are the same otherwise.

You’re kind of missing or at least avoiding my point.
