When asked about the remarks at a later press conference, Mr Zelensky said: “Let him write to me [about] how else I should express my words of gratitude or we could get up in the morning and express our words of gratitude to the minister.”

He urged Oleksiy Reznikov, Ukraine’s defence minister, who was sitting in the audience, to call Mr Wallace to find out more about his concerns.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak also distanced himself from Mr Wallace’s comments, insisting Ukraine had always been grateful for Britain’s support.

Mr Sunak said Mr Zelensky had “repeatedly expressed his gratitude to me and to the British people and indeed other allies”.

A spectator taking a selfie caused a crash of about 20 riders on stage 15 of the Tour de France.

The stage was won by Dutchman Wout Poels as defending champion Jonas Vingegaard maintained his 10-second lead on Tadej Pogacar.

Sepp Kuss, Vingegaard's Team Jumbo-Visma team-mate, had his handlebars knocked by a fan holding out a phone.

Kuss went down with team-mate Nathan van Hooydonck and brought down a large group in the peloton.

"There was a narrowing in the town and a spectator in the road, and I guess he just clipped my handlebars," said Kuss.

"Luckily I'm OK and hopefully the other guys in the crash are all right. It's not ideal.

"I think it's fatigue. It's been such a hard race and everybody is a bit tired. You lose a bit of alertness and there's always things out of your control as well."

Honestly some interesting complaints:

In 2020 Kimiko Glenn, who played inmate Brook Soso, revealed a foreign-royalty statement containing a measly £20.84 ($27.30).

...

She recently reposted a video on Instagram of herself opening the letter, to which her former co-star Matt McGorry, who played a corrections officer, commented: 'Exaccctttlllyyy. I kept my day job the entire time I was on the show because it paid better than the mega-hit TV show we were on.'

Beth Dover, who played a manager at the company taking over the prison, added: 'It actually COST me money to be in season 3 and 4 since I ... had to fly myself out, etc. But I was so excited for the opportunity to be on a show I loved so I took the hit. It's maddening.'

Some stars, including Emma Myles who played drug addict Leanne Taylor, were paid the Screen Actors Guild absolute minimum rate during filming – less than £687 ($900) a day.

Her royalty payments for the show this year total £15 ($20), whereas she receives around £458 ($600) a year for guest appearances she made on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as far back as 2004.

The multi-millionaire cast of Oppenheimer walked out of the film's UK premiere in 'solidarity' with the actors' strike - as Hollywood grinds to a halt with unions taking militant action over how streaming services are pushing down pay and the increasing use of AI.

The likes of Cillian Murphy, Florence Pugh, Matt Damon, Emily Blunt and Rami Malek walked the red carpet at the Odeon in Leicester Square earlier in the night.

But the group left the event prematurely to 'go and write their picket signs' in preparation for the 'imminent' strike by the actors' union.

Unfortunately, they're off to write their picket signs for what we believe to be an imminent strike by Sag, joining one of my guilds, the Writers Guild, in the struggle for fair wages for working members of the unions, and we support them.'

Christopher then attended a second premiere screening of Oppenheimer and voiced his support for the strikes while introducing the film as he praised the 'talented' workers.

I believe I saw you standing up for us in some of those threads, so thank you.

I really do like wigglehard but I think... that was the opposite of what should have happened. I am not saying it would have changed the outcome necessarily, but I would have kissed ass to avoid this.

It's almost like actors as a bunch are not representative of the masculinized roles they play lol

Agreed - like the Sopranos guy.

LOL I am OK with some of this, of course... But... I do think it is legitimately tragic when they kill themselves. We are all made in the image of God... and I think that the humor of the thing... is a persuasive way to try to save people from it.

It's a really bad situation for these people, IMO.

What is so silly about this is suggesting that these guys are for sale, IMO...

SCOTUS Justices are ideologues, bro, lol.

I’m not a christian at all. Grew up going to church until 16 and noped out of there as soon as my parents let me make my own decision. Not sure what the obsession with other people sinning is? Let them make their own mistakes if that’s what you see them as.

This would be a combination of things, though, right... Some people talk generally about sin, and others take it personal and thus view it as Chrisitan imposition on their way of life.

At other times, Christians are making observations about the direction of society, and again, it is interpreted as a judgment of specific individuals.

I think what we see mostly, though, is people self-conscious about how they are failing the standards that their parents and other people they respect put on them, and instead they reverse it: No, the problem isn't my substance abuse/fornication, it's the fact that it bothers you.

Thanks for the information - what was it?

I remember I saw these ridiculous posts on EH where someone would b writing "I am a neonazi skinhead racist and I hate black people' etc. as the subject line... Were these things actually filtering over to sh.it and affecting people's perception?

lol, was @wigglehard's trolling a factor in this, basically?

Not making eye contact is not an issue if it’s consistent between characteristics that aren’t wrong to have different feelings about, such as treating family different than strangers. It is an issue when, again, it’s based on characteristics such as race.

You brought up another issue here - we would have people who are shy and generally uncomfortable around strangers that would have it assumed that their racism is causing them to act in a specific way, creating problems.

We could pretend that these issues don’t exist and not work to correct them. That would be an option, where some people would be treated poorly for no reason. We could also (like this case) work to solve these issues and some people will be treated worse for a reason. Both have some issues, but at least the latter is trying to improve outcomes. Sure, it might make things worse for certain people (in particular, people who deserve worse outcomes because they don’t tolerate others, so should not be tolerated), but the end goal is better at least.

Which would be the best thing to do: to actively oppose racism in our personal lives and to support laws that treat everybody equally, but also to not try to [socially] police microaggressions.

The act of policing microaggressions does more harm than good, IMO.

This is the sort of thing people talked about in the 90s and before the mid-2000s because it was some real issue and people had no idea that the marketplace was going to making it so that I would have to actively make choices to avoid having the internet in my pocket at all times for an affordable price.

This is also the case for kids, which has created a world of social ills.

But they still harp about concepts like universal internet access as a front for policies that benefit their cronies.

Lol great to see another JLP viewer.

Have you forgiven all your enemies?

Do you want to forgive all your enemies?

The sad thing about this is that it might not be super effective if the law enforcement agencies drag their feet - and they are paid a lot in the form of opportunities to drag dem feet.
