@MisterFrog ludicrous penny pinching.

@Doofytoe @grumpo_potamus When I commuted regularly rain on the way to work was a reason not to ride, the risk of rain on the way home wasn't. Maybe if the office had a good shower I would have ridden to work in the rain too.

@Salvo @Baku think of them more as good options for showing these areas that they still matter when proposing much more substantial upgrades in other areas.

Also that 1km walk in the middle can make that route impossible for people who cannot walk that far (or who adding that to the days travels is too much)

@notgold the length of time between station openings is more scandalous to me.

@Baku @CEOofmyhouse56 You end up in an intersection while it is red more often when going slowly than when going the speed limit. When doing the limit you should see the orange long early enough to brake.

When doing 10 in an 80 zone you may be in the intersection the entire period of the orange.

@theroff @Zagorath When no one does anything (positive) to the rail network in 40 years there are a lot of 'easy' wins lying around.

[–] LovesTha@floss.social 2 points 9 months ago

@ajsadauskas @fuck_cars All they need to do is say the winning tender will be determined by number of affordable homes it includes.

(Yes I want them to do more than that, but just thinking of minimal things that would work really well)

@chiliedogg @daltotron Yes, they have swallowed a lot of lies. A lot needs to change.

@Maggoty @UnderpantsWeevil Melbourne is slowly on it's journey to banning cars in the CBD. I wish we'd do it with a timeline with less decades in it, but each step towards it is good.

So far 2 of 21 pieces of street have been made car free.
