Have you forgotten about the instance that posted memes about sacrificing trans people to Trump to save their precious moral superiority?

Fair about the years, let's call them 2019 models instead.

I do doubt rk3588's performance because my phone has a76 + a55 and it has nowhere near desktop performance like the person above claimed. And for people with more recent phones it would be a downgrade.

The soc being merely 3 years old despite having older components doesn't mean much; you could make the same arguement about the phone being brand new regardless of what cpu it has but that doesn't change the fact that it doesn't perform like a 2025 device. This is like amd repackaging zen 2 and zen 3 processors as if they were new by declaring the most significant digit 'year' and 3rd most significant digit 'generation'.

And I really doubt rockchip (or any other manufacturer) chose a76 because it was better than its successors in some way. As I see it rk3588 is using these cores because they're the best available on the 8nm process node that rockchip could afford. Which I suppose isn't unreasonable for a low cost chip in 2022, but this is a ~~2025~~2026 smartphone that's reducing costs by using a 2022 chip that itself reduced its costs by using 2019 tech.

Counter - take: this is the natural outcome of Americans' obsession with simplicity. If you mock every design with character and try to reduce visual noise at all costs you end up with these

[–] Lojcs@lemm.ee 2 points 1 month ago

This is very much untrue

Does piefed pay its admins? Iirc lemm.ee's monthly donations were enough to cover server costs and there were months worth of reserves. Only a dramatic increase in donations (enough to pay the admins) would make a difference and I'm skeptical piefed can reach that

Cortex A55 is 2 generations old and from 2017. A76 is 6 generations old and from 2018.

Hope someone goes over the libreoffice ui to simplify its workflows and fix multi monitor support by then. That youtuber who designed musescore's new version comes to mind

Progressed a bunch more in witcher 3 but got burnt out again. Finished ugly baby and it seems a bunch of side quests become unavailable after isle of mists and I don't have time to binge them nowadays.

Tried to make progress in celeste and they bleed pixels but they were too hard. I think I'll give up on golden strawberries and do the other stuff on celeste and might end up giving up on tbp entirely as the fire world seems impenetrable. The difficulty curve on that game is insane

Currently looking for a short ish easy game thag I can just play from beginning to the end without getting stuck or feeling completionist fomo. Suggestions?

Any mod or glitch you use in a singleplayer game. Reshade could be considered a 'mod menu'

Does it blanket forbid those even if individual examples of those things don't violate the parameters in the beginning or does it forbid them only if a particular instance under those categories violates the first part?

You will not use exploits or illegal or unauthorised means to interfere with or adversely impact any other user’s ability to use the services as intended; to gain unfair gameplay advantage; or to gain access to virtual items or other content to which you do not have valid entitlement. This includes the use of cheats or so-called ‘mod menus’, unauthorised mods, hacks, glitches, or any other technical exploits, and phishing, scamming, or social engineering.

In legalese, does 'this includes' mean 'additionally' or 'specifically'?

Marvel wikia retcons its first appearance as xmen#101, but phoenix force isn't in this issue, phoenix is. At some point between its publication and now the story must've changed to involve a cosmic god, but I wonder if before then phoenix's origin was intended to be an extreme version of fantastic 4's origin beyond just an homage.

I just started reading xmen#125 and once again in a flashback this is how the event is described:

Her body was consumed by the intense radiation. But her mind refused to die. Driven by her love for Scott Summers, she achieved her full potential as a psi --becoming, briefly, an entity of pure thought-- before finally reforming as Phoenix.

So when does phenix force actually bocme a thing? Were there any other out of universe (as I'll reach the in universe ones eventually) explanations of the phoenix's power before then? Shouldn't the wiki at least mention if a part of an article is a retcon?

Edit: I think it appears first in xmen 153, where Kitty pryde tells colossus's sister a bedtime story loosely based on the xmen. In the story Jean's soul manages to defeat Phoenix.

I'm trying to play dark souls 2 with the graphics overhaul mod in hdr. I'm passing 1440p to gamescope with the -W, -H, -w, -h options and limiting framerate to 60 with -r and -o.

The game just refuses to display at anything other than 720p. I can change the in-game resolution setting to 1440p but the resolution just doesn't change. I tried setting a lower resolution (480p iirc) as well, but it still looked the same. Also tried enabling fullscreen but that setting doesn't save nor does it do anything.

I'm inferring that it's 720p because the in-game cursor moves half the distance of the actual cursor with gamescope set to 1440p, but they're in sync if I set it to 720p. To the eye it just looks blurry. The mod menu opens at the size it opens without gamescope but is also similarly blurred. Couldn't interact with it to confirm the resolution due to the aforementioned mouse issue

Outside of gamescope fullscreen works fine and the resolution setting works too iirc (but they reset after reopening the game). Kde plasma. Tried disabling secondary screen, setting scaling to 100 and limiting desktop fps to 60, didn't help

Could this be some kind of steam deck detection? Any ideas?

I kill 2-4. Fuckers get in whenever I open the windows at night

I keep seeing this video and every time I'm uncertain. I'm pretty sure that's not how normal strawberry plants look, and the fact that all of the berries are ripe at the same time is suspicious. On the other hand they look naturally connected to the plant and not stabbed into branches..

I have been trying to find any information about the myterious "Story Numbers" for hours and finally found this article

I'm guessing this is a rolling shutter effect since the lines were always horizontal wrt the screen but can't really explain it. Shutter speed is 1/1500s. The lines appear on other shutter speeds too but fade away as you approach 1s. They seemed most noticeable at factors of 1/50s or 1/750s. Here's a screen video: https://quickshare.samsungcloud.com/xc6hikOCglkz

I've been playing dark souls lately and wanted to see what pegi wrote about it. It's mildly amusing

Without other usb devices the keyboard works immediately. With them it takes 5 ish seconds for it to start responding. This is regardless of which device is discovered first (which I can manipulate), it seems to just wait for all of them. Is there a way to make it not do that?

Edit: This is specifically about linux boot. It otherwise works fine in bios / bootloader
