Ive met guys like this before. I never could figure out how they always had a farmers tan but never wore shirts with sleeves. One of life's greatest mysteries.

This has nothing to do with Crocs but shoes in general. I recently got a pair online that advertised "super squishy" soles. Almost like memory foam but really really soft. They felt great for about 20 minutes then the super squishy, squished out to the sides and in weird places around my foot. They were horrible. If you've ever gotten sand inside the fabric of your shoe lining, its a lot like that. I should have returned them, but the pair I was replacing were literally falling apart and i needed shoes. 0/10 would not recommend.

They probably microwave them. Nobody should microwave seafood at work.

Schwarzman’s pandemic splurge came just as his firm decided to double down on scooping up rental housing. During the housing crash of the Great Recession, Blackstone had snapped up underwater homes for cheap and eventually made a fortune. The Covid collapse offered Blackstone another bite at the apple. In 2021 and 2022, it bought up 200,000 new units of rental housing at bargain-basement interest rates, adding to a portfolio of more than 150,000 rentals and making Blackstone the nation’s biggest corporate landlord... and its rental portfolio has seen a healthy return of about $11 billion over the last decade, hiking rent on some of its properties by nearly 80 percent.

Fuck all billionaires but seriously fuck this guy.

I was watching a stream on YouTube last night (Ryan Hall) of the storm coverage. I had to just close the chat entirely because the amount of ridiculous statements and questions people were posting was legitimately starting to upset me. Some notable ones i remember "I hear theyre sending this storm to africa after florida". "this is the democrats taking out pockets of trump supporters". "Calling this a 'hurricane' is a way for 'them' to funnel 'dark money' into the state. its not actually a hurricane so it doesn't qualify for federal money".

It was maddening to read and the only way I was able to not lose more faith in humanity is just telling myself they were all disinfo bots. Anyways, hopefully those of you who were affected by the storm are doing ok. Remember your neighbors, people. We're all in this together.

The original has been on my whishlist since it came out and i just never got around to picking it up. I might have to just splurge on the remaster instead.

I was just recently laid off for doing that for several years at my last job. I wasn't "being a team player" and I "do great work, but I could do more" and my "attitude was affecting the team negatively" (read: your enlightening other employees to the fact we are taking advantage of them). Never mind the fact they fired my assistant 3 years ago and never rehired anyone so i was doing two jobs the entire time. Or the fact during my time there i improved a core function of the job by over 20% and saved the company 10s of thousands a year. No, i needed to do more for free. Fuck every employer who operates this way. /rant
