I think we should give this a week and then make plans to create a new instance. I've already created an account somewhere else, but I am quite fond of this instance.

Brazilian. I only take one shower/day unless it's very hot, then it's two. I don't think I ever took three showers/day. But bear in mind that the climate is very different depending on where you live in Brazil.

I think many people don't understand this is the entire point of being on Lemmy. They just want Reddit without ads, but without FOSS we would sooner or later become Reddit. So of course we are going to care about FOSS.
It's the same with people who use Linux but say they don't care about FOSS. Linux is Linux because it's FOSS. Otherwise it would just be Chrome OS or Android.
I mean, Lemmy itself is FOSS, and the vast majority of instances are running on Linux. The main reason I am here and not on Reddit is that Lemmy is FOSS.
I should stop complaining when it's windy.

I get you, OP. Sometimes it seems like people treat Steam as the pinnacle of Linux. It's even more baffling when people say that they like Linux but wish they could run MS Office, Photoshop etc. Do you really like Linux or do you just hate Windows? Because for me almost the entire point of Linux is that it's FOSS. If all I wanted was to run proprietary software, I would use an OS that the proprietary software officially supports and was designed to run on, saving myself a ton of trouble.
