What the Marx are you talking about? Compare cities, like Chongqing, to NYC, and you can easily see how much superior Chinese cities are to US cities. For instance, public transportation, such as electric driver-less buses, taxis and high speed rail far surpasses anything the US can muster.
The same reason that a class conscious proletarian might still support the dictatorship of capital: ideological solidarity for whatever reason(s). It's not like material affluence is the only factor for why people are shaped the way they are.
