Apple was told by EU to create a link for E2EE messaging and they said "lol no". Google offered secure integration with RCS, even run their own servers. Apple said "lol no, buy iPhones".

Pretty much, yes. Canada too, but we have a strong Samsung/Motorola base. Apple really doesn't make phones very affordable, while Moto/Samsung have devices starting at $200.

Also, teens in the US/Canada get what there parents choose, and that's most likely a financed carrier deal. Choices are limited.

As for the world, lots of options.
