Good!

And 100%. Motivation while studying is noticable in the progress aswell. Everytime my motivation returns I have these spikes in vocabulary learning.

Wish you a productive week emb.

Thanks for sharing, I'll have to dive into this (looking for possible duolingo alternatives)

That's awesome, must've felt soo rewarding and exciting!

You get so much more out of travelling when you can speak with locals in their own language.

Ohh that's neat! Which program, if I may ask? Always looking for new resources to learn!

Honestly I'm starting to understand hermits. I have to accept that I've become a digital hermit.

[–] Lazycog@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 week ago

Agreed. Oh well they'll learn in the nether which I always banish them to. Once they get back they'll be useful!

Here's a bit of context about these turkish ice cream sellers: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Jx_NjpeBqQw

They are a meddling bunch - I keep throwing them out but this generation of apprentices just browse the magiscroll all day, don't listen, and don't have manners.

They always think they are doing me favours by breaking into my study and "cleaning up" my perfectly organized piles.

The problem with mark-read on vote is that people downvote new posts simply because they don't personally find it interesting.

There aren't as many users on here so two downvotes might hide the new post entirely from quite a lot of users. There's no karma system or super complex algorithm but downvoting does affect the visibilty of posts

The darn apprentices keep thinking it's a bug on my card and keep throwing it out.

Words of wisdom right there. Doesn't take much for it to be worth it either!

Alternatively Rock'n'Roll or something.

I personally thought it's really cool that they decided to make an official lemmy community. Hope we can make it more active!

Linux-first laptop vendor NovaCustom contributes 10 000 USD to Heads firmware - Together with this, NovaCustom launches Heads firmware for their V56 series

I'll return tomorrow with my own submission.

Description from their page:

TUXEDO Computers are customizable Linux notebooks and Desktop PCs optimized in the first place to run with Ubuntu-based Linux operating systems. Literally Linux hardware in a tailor-made suit.

I've been wanting to buy a laptop from them for awhile, but I like to assemble my own PCs and honestly don't need a laptop. At this point I'm just looking for an excuse to support such companies...

This company started as a Ukrainian startup in 2014 and funded their way into mainstream via Kickstarter. I've personally bought at least one Christmas gift per year from them for a few years. Especially the wooden mechanical apparatuses are really cool.

And yes the quality is good. They even add extra pieces for pieces that they suspect might break during assembly for more complex products.
