That's why I'm also always trying to push the benefits of open data/source/etc onto my employers. It sometimes works too.

It's up to us as individuals to also make a fuss about this stuff here in EU. I love EU but I'm not blindly trusting every corpo that's from EU.

Choose local (in our case European/EU), but not blindly and naively.

Agreed! And communities where people participate are really needed - new users are often met with "news communities" which can be depressing if your whole feed consists of bad news.

A comment is enough; you can assign me as a moderator by clicking on my comment's three-dot menu button on the default web-UI (not sure if any of the mobile apps have this tool available though).

But I realized now that it could be that you can't assign me as a mod since I am an admin on sopuli server! Need to look into that. We'll see when sunshine comments here. Whether you can assign her as a mod.

I can help moderate the community nevertheless! I have all the mod actions and reports available since I'm an admin on the server this community is hosted on :)

Edit: yeah checked it out, you can't appoint me as a moderator since I am an administrator on the server this community is hosted on. But I'd be happy to help anyway!
