Marxist analysis (and all the lil Marxist successor schools of thought) seem to be the only analysis that makes any kind of sense. It's like lifting the veil, or putting on the shades, it's horrible

Exactly! You feel me

One thing I often think about is that many people feel dejected from a system because they don’t even get the bare minimum rewards they’re told they will get if they participate. The American dream specifically is one of those things that you’re told that if you do what you’re supposed to do. You are entitled to a certain package of goods and services and even a little of status.

I genuinely truly believe that a significant amount of new leftists (young and old, black and white, and all the other cliché binaries) simply choose leftist thought because it at very least offers them a truth. An often unpleasant truth, but in a world of lies, it is something of value. Also a true that makes sense on its face and makes more sense the deeper you engage with it.

Leftist thought (just about any leftist -ism) offers an understanding of reality and a possible future. the American dream sells a false past that you can never obtain, and to be more honest its obtainment was at the cost of others not getting it as well.

I also genuinely truly believe that if the American dream were more obtainable, a good amount of people would remain in the neoliberal quadrant. of course neoliberalism can’t deliver this goods and services because it’s built on a lie, and because of that I blame them for creating the conditions of their downfall. I hate the conservative, and I loathe the neoliberal.

Biden made cannabis slightly less illegal which is doing literally less than the bare minimum in fact. Yes progress begins somewhere or whatever, but every liberal DNC MSNBC dork-ass is gonna scream at voters over this.

"He can't personally come over and do your dishes mister! Don't let perfect be the enemy of good buster! maybe-later-kiddo "

"I have given these hippies, queers, and coloreds their wacky tobacky surely they will give me a their vote! I'm so good at politics brandon "

"it's the most important election of your worthless meaningless lives. haha! I'm the vice-president, accept your fate, there is no alternative. If there was it would have occurred by now. This all is predetermined long before any us were here hehe jokermala"

I think it was a combination of that youthful gamer-goblin brain and something about the animation of those games still really feel satisfying. Gamer-brain really pushed me to that weird "I am a man you a machine, you will not best me!" and the animation was just so damn slick. Fun game and a good game, but goddamn it was tough one. Even knowing the tips and tricks I don't think I could do it today.

Unity's assassination missions are rad though, it's finally the historical Hitman Blood Money we were always promised, killing your mark without being noticed and slipping out feels SO FUCKIN GOOD

Shame I didn't get through it enough, I love the Hitman games and sense building tension of Hitman always hits the mark for me. A period piece Hitman is kinda all I have ever wanted from the AC titles, there are little hints here and there of it but never really deliver on that promise.

Agent 47's game when done well really highlight the fun of building tension and the joy of setting things in place. That's always been the fun for me in a Hitman game, is not just solving the puzzle of the "hit" but the act of setting the puzzle's solution on to the board and seeing it all come together. The plot never did it for me, i kinda saw what they were going for, but it never hit the mark for me. Luckily the pure mechanics of a good Hitman game really carry the experience for me every time.

The climbing works okay once you understand it (which the game never really teaches you, just tells you to hold RT) and the combat is entirely braindead.

That's what killed it for me most of the time, the act of moving around always felt kinda neat and dynamic but fightin' dude was just "What if Batman Arkham-style combat but worse in every way? What if we made being a cool super assassin lame as hell?"

It is also a great concept totally wasted on bullshit games. How did they manage to make it so non cool??

Agreed!

I couldn't get through Unity. The gameplay didn't really grip me, then again the gameplay loop has been flat since 3. Not "bad" exactly but very much flat. The characters were all pretty forgettable, I felt like assassin's really jumped the shark with the "genetic memory" gimmick in the first game. It properly would have been a great or narrative tool in the third game or something. I'm not even being cynical or hater (though being a hater is a lot of fun), it just felt Assassin's Creed has always been a cool premise with very mediocre games.

I will say the world design of Versailles felt really good and rich. Then again, for me I find Assassin's Creed works really well for the first 2-10 hours and after that it's charm quickly depletes.

I'm genuinely curious why anyone cares about an Assassin's Creed game in 2024. The series has been absolute dog-water for over a decade and a half. When was the last decent one? "Black Flag"? "Brotherhood"? Sure it's fun to see CHUDs be CHUDs, but I'm really surprised anyone even remotely cares about this series. What even is an Assassin's Creed at this point? They are creatively vapid beyond recognition.

One thing that really sucks about these sorts of things is they highlight the USA's desperate need for investing in public infrastructures but at the same time demonize the idea of public works/goods/services like roads, bridges, ports. It really shows how utterly hallow the skulls of most media class is.

I like the show. I love the air of unease in every shot. I don't think a lot of TV shows have such a memorably unique look an "feel" as mr.robot. Yes the politics aren't that great but the dialogue, characters, narratives, all the TV show stuff is good. It's great drama.

Payakan brigade is doing their part.
