BPRD is a the fictional organization that Hellboy works for/with in the comics. They are like a your typical shadowy comic book organization but fight against the bad guys. BPRD is also conically not friends with the CIA, as well as overtly anti-Nazi, so those two things are always a plus.

Hellboy and BPRD comics are always rock-solid reads, I will forever and always advocate people read Hellboy and/or BPRD comics.
Also check out "Black Science" it's really good twist on the classic "mad scientist" trope, also the artstyle rules.
As a dude who played it front-to-back with my homie i'd say it's "fine". It's one of those games I'd recommend you'd rent if that were still a thing, but you're not really not missing much. It's not a great addition to the Wolfenstien legacy, but it's fun at times. Just not all the time, and sadly the highest of fun aren't as high as they ought to be.
I think the concept of Youngblood , i always think could have been really interesting. A mix of Dishonored non-linear exploration with bombastic in your face FPS gameplay of Wolfenstien seems like an unlikely but interesting pairing in my book . Unfortunately, The narrative design wasn't great and coupled with forever scaling Far Cry 4/5/6 gameplay really just made it feel flat. It's a shame cause the game looked great, sounded great, and at times in the co-op was pretty rad. I liked the Blazkowicz girls, and I thought their sort of goofy 80s teen worked but the game just never really got off the ground for me.
It's really frustrating that people never really talk about the game design or its issue, it's always the same ol' "WOKE BECAUSE TWO GIRLS! WOKE BECAUSE BLACK GIRL! WOKE BECAUSE NAZI ARE SHOWN TO BE BAD!" . It's a game worth talking about, but not really for the dumb gamer reasons.
And honestly I think the anti-voting sentiment on the left is a symptom of unexamined lib ideals. We're all taught that voting is the most important political action, that it's powerful enough to change the world, that voting itself is a revolutionary act, and that this whole year long lead up of political theater approaching the presidential vote is somehow important. Then we realize that it's a rigged system that'll always provide a choice between slightly different coalitions of bourgeoisie interests.
Agreed on this for sure. Personally I'm of the general belief that capital V "VOTING™©®" is good but wholly insufficient. Like washing your hands is good to prevent the flu but getting a flu shot is better, and politically I think they try to drill into us that voting is the vaccine.
Agreed. That "Liberal" modifier on "Democracy" really fucks up the whole thing.
I'm always 90/10 split on voting. Part of me understands that voting is a totally hijacked system, but also a part of me thinks "if it weren't important they wouldn't go through all these scams and schemes to prevent people from doing it." I do think democratic values are good and people should have a say in the how system works, but the system has kind of already shield itself from user influence. It's just kinda sad.
I really empathize with katz who got their degrees and graduated into this mess of job market. The game is all fucked up, it's been fucked up, but I'd say it's uniquely fucked up in a way I haven't seen it fucked up since maybe 2009.
I played TrickStyle on the Dreamcast, I didn't know about "AirBlade". I gotta check this out now.
I'm hitting the Hotel. Gonna take a nap and take a break from it all for a bit.
I just started reading this manga "Apple Black". It's manga from American-Nigerian kat named Odunze Oguguo and it rules. Also back on my Hellboy/BPRD readings, I love those stories. Also reading the Blade Runner 2019, I tend not to like spin-offs of existing media but these feel like good comics that just happen to be based off a thing rather than a heartless tie-in product.
I'm so mad that housing is such a solvable problem/issue. It's not some nebulous quandary of the soul, it's a very actionable thing we can adress. We never do though, all we do anything other than shuffle human lives around.
