That's one of the top 100 uniquely evil moments under Bush. Katz need to remember how dreadful and awful the eight years of Bush were. Obama cleaned up the memory, and Trump sort of overshadowed the memory by being particularly vulgar and garish. Trumps novelty and Obama's civility really did a bang-up job covering up Bush's christofashism.
People have utterly formatted their mental hard drives in regards to George W. Bush. So much of Gen-X and below generation was shaped by W. In the same way Regan is the devil and reason everything sucks, W is also the devil and reason everything sucks.

Rather than going to therapy men will build a commune together. Take vows of silences and scar runes into their flesh as they study the tomes of ancient forbidden knowledge to bring back some ancient condemned nethergod. Or perhaps just vibrate their spirits the frequency of the universe to achieve higher forms of enlightenment and learn to throw fireballs as a form of exercise. Or maybe just vibe out and make beer, transcribe books, and study bees with the boyz.

Exactly dude, exactly! This was stuff isn't ancient history, it's VERY recent and I find it really infuriating that there people of great power and influence today who were likely exactly like the katz in that picture. This sort of American history isn't that old and I wish people didn't try to create a narrative that segregation is some relic of the civil war era or something.

(For the record the only reason I have that knowledge off the top of my dome is because I have a print out of the MGS timeline on my nerd bookshelf. I used that print out for TTRPG writing sessions as well. Also I find the 60's cold war era to be a uniquely fascinating time as it's a confluence of so many interesting social and political movements. Most importantly of course, The Civil Rights era specifically due its influence on my life)
I think it's utterly maddening that shit was in 1960. It wasn't "the olden days" or "the before times" it was 1960. That's fours years before the events of Metal Gear Solid 3. This shit isn't that old.
(For the record, I think the black and white photography capturing racism is thematically and aesthetically on point)
I'm always curious if we will see a return to actors having a real working class background who really did dream of having gigs that gave them insurance. Before the rise of modern understanding celebrity lots of actors were just regular actors not connected to of the Hollywood Matrix. I would imagine a lot of talent have connections and born into it, but I would also imagine there are tons of people in front and behind the camera who just working katz who love movie-magic.
