It's probably just my machine showing its age.

I use Jellyfin and Finamp. When it works it's great, but it seems to always crap out after half an hour or so of streaming.

I tried for years. I'm over it.

It doesn't even occur to them that they also break features on the Android users' ends as well, but I only see iPhone users complaining. It really isn't that big of a deal to share a file over SMS/MMS with a link rather than trying to share the actual file directly. Is that difficult to do on an iPhone?

I might set it up, since I already use Instagram, but I'm not sure how much I'll use it.

  • I already have accounts on mastodon.social and jorts.horse, so what's the point for me?
  • I wouldn't be able to post to Threads like I do to Twitter since my family are all on Instagram. They wouldn't get it.

  1. they're nightmare creatures.
  2. there's a doe that visits my backyard sometimes and keeps trying to attack my dog.

As far as I'm concerned, they're the bad guys.

Are you implying that the RCS that comes with Google Messages is significantly less modern than whatever ships with iPhones?

Edit: Or, are you saying that most Android users wouldn't care if that was the case?

The point is that it's not really Android users' problem. There are options for iPhone users and, yes, if they really want to use the native iPhone messaging app they can complain to Tim Apple. Cc: @FuckFashMods@lib.lgbt

I never understood the complaint. If iPhone users don't like the way Apple messaging works with Android contacts, they can just use an alternative like Whatsapp. Right?

Right now I am just running Jellyfin. I had been running AdGuard Home, TTRSS, and WordPress on a Yunohost server (in a VM on my Ubuntu 22.10 desktop PC), but it inexplicably ran out of space in /var, so I shut it down. I intent to try again, but this time with a personal Lemmy instance.

Flair would be nice, but I think Lemmy should do it its own way with hashtags. It would be cool to search for hashtags within specific communities, subscribed communities, entire instances, and all instances.
