I bet prison in NZ is like Mordor.

Have you tried discussing the problem with the admins at those instances? What was their response?

Does anyone know if the admins at Beehaw tried discussing the problem with their counterparts at the other instances? (I'd search the comments to that post for an answer, but I don't think there's a good way to do that yet.)

One more reason to start a personal instance I suppose.

Update: I received this answer from the Beehaw admin.

I can see your reply just fine, and the supernormal stimuli explanation mIakes sense. Also, I think I found my answer here:

Q. Why has the mother stopped sitting on the nest at night?

A. By the time the babies are about a week old, the nest is getting crowded, and the babies are capable of keeping themselves warm, all snuggled together. At this point the mother robin starts sleeping on a tree branch again.

Like I said, the chicks are about nine days old, so the mother's behavior appears to be normal. That's a relief!

When I was a teenager I would eat the full sized ice cream ones sometimes, thinking that they were delicious. I tried one again as an adult a few years ago and it didn't hold up.

I don't know about the mental health aspect, but I know that up/down-voting can be abused. Getting rid of down-voting doesn't really fix anything. For me, on lemmy.one, which also has down-voting disabled, it just kind of makes me feel like I'm supposed to up-vote everything I don't dislike. So it seems like disabling down-voting just breaks an otherwise useful metric. I think an actual solution might involve weighing up and down votes according to a karma-like score of whoever is voting. This way, it will be very inefficient if a bunch of fake or bad accounts try to harass someone with lots of down-voting or try to promote a bad post with lots of up-voting.

Stuff from your job. If you're not stealing from your employer, you're stealing from your family.

They could still keep iMessage, but just automatically fall back to RCS instead of SMS/MMS. God forbid!

The app integration is fine, although I don't know what integration with a payment app is supposed to accomplish. I was confused about it when Signal tried to incorporate a payment feature. Rcs group chat encryption is supposed to be there, but I don't have any groups to test it where everyone is using a compatible messaging app.

Oh that would be some progress.
