Whoa. It runs on deck? I just finished it on desktop. Completionist wise it was such a burden and I wish it didn't have any achievements. Hopefully your sand trip is awesome!

I'm so partial to buying the game but my backlog says no. Enjoy your cat ninja trip! I'll follow you in few years :)

I have never played Destiny 2 and wanted to try it out one month ago. I asked on Reddit what to do as a free-to-play player to get a good insight of what the game has to offer.

The gatekeeping was unreal. They said unless I'm willing to dedicate hundreds of hours I should not even try and rather uninstall the game immediately. For sure they made it feel that new players are not welcome.

Playerbase toxicity was a harsh reality. The game story, even in the broadest sense, was hard to grasp. The new player experience in-game was miserable. I have no idea what their money making plan is. Live service games need new players to stay healthy.

All the servers are physically located in the US with the exception of the legendary server Mordor that just opened a few days ago. You need active subscription for that.

For the normal servers marked as EU Laurelin has less players that Evernight but has more serious roleplaying scene if that is something you're interested in. There are also servers for Germans and French.

If you can pay for the subscription I'd strongly suggest hopping in the Mordor server. It's in the 'busiest it gets' phase where there are soo many players having fun at the low levels. I'm loving it. The initial hype will die after few months so now is your best chance.

The sad truth is that without news like this I would've never known who this person was and ultimately I think I would've been happier.

Same applies to these certain US politicians. I know the horrible ones and none of the smart ones by name.

I wish shitty people get zero news coverage, from now on to forever, but people like OP spread the word even when the news is negative. Damn.

Wait what? Slay the Spire was on your list? Care to elaborate on that a little bit more?

All my Slay the Spire runs start with the exact same starter deck and I do not have extra health, damage, or other bonuses from my prior runs. I don't get your point.

FTL? What the heck. If I beat the flagship I don't get any bonuses for beating it for my next run.

I don't know if we understand 'roguelite where we get permanent bonuses for next round' in the same way. In Hades and Rogue Legacy your run will most likely be more stronger than your last run because of permanent upgrades. In FTL, Slay the Spire or Into the Breach you don't get those - you just expand the available starting gear / setups.

When you say perfected the formula I have to agree with you. It's such a joy to start with the same deck as the top 1% A20 only players and make your own journey. It just feels so right and well balanced.

You're the second person suggesting Deep Rock. Now I'm guessing that there are two games: one multiplayer, one not with similar names. I guess I have to research on them. Thanks mate!

Ooh. Thanks for the suggestions. Not sure about Deep Rock (multiplayer eh? Can't pause mid game, right?) but the Slice & Dice and Dicey Dungeons sound like something I'd be interested. Much appreciated.

Thanks. Hades and Disco Elysium were on my list but you had many listed that I've never heard of. Much appreciated.

I kinda get you. I too didn't like when I started always with the same starter deck but then it grew on me. When there is no game progression (think for Rogue Legacy etc. permanent upgrades) the progression is you and your game knowledge. Every single run starts the same but evolves to so different each and every time and you make better decisions over the run. I love it.
