A nickname for a character from a book I want to write... the MC doesn't and lives on in the aftermath of a fallen empire. What's left is just a petty squabbling of those who survived, who came from the foreign lands and the dammed whose machinations are yet to be fulfilled.

(Think of an Andromeda show but leaning more into fantasy than sci fi)

I've talked to a Brit who said: "When I was young, I was told to eat my veggies because children in Yugoslavia are starving, once I learned the history I realised there were likely more hungry people in Britain than there."

It's highly problematic when you have bodies that can't transmit their heat because everything in their surrounding is at the same temperature. Last year I was amazed how the heat from the street was on the verge of melting my cheap shoes.

People laugh but I think cooling/heating shelters in the urban and retiree homes are unavoidable in the immediate future. Well, the alternative is to let the heat play the role of the grim reaper.
