Nearly all rugged or armoured cases that I've seen leave the camera module/square completely exposed, which is a pretty big vulnerability in terms of protection. Most cases that cover the camera square, like this case here, happen to be \"cute\" or \"aesthetic\" cases, or even $1 thin clear plastic cases.
