So according to you, there's a crypto that 1. doesn't need any capital (computers), 2. doesn't need wastable energy (power that wouldn't otherwise be used) and 3. is actually impossible to track across the board?

As far as I know it's just french spelling, not limited to French-Canadian.

Have you heard of the lottery?

Whole-ass time travel to "buy more bitcoin", what a clown.

Adding a few more points to fully kill crypto as a "freedom currency"

  • Generating crypto requires capital; people with computers and access to energy will instantly get the ability to outgenerate any other crypto participant
  • Energy-centric currency just empowers the same rich lobbies; oil and gaz lobbies are delighted to see that there's an uptick in energy demand
  • People with right material (read, capital) can track you, but low chance to track anyone doing crime at a national level (due to odds of them having a competent IT (baring the Hegseth drunkards out there))

I think that the fact that youths and families are leaving is a much worse demographic crisis than it might seem at first glance. It's literally the future of the country that is leaving.

It's definitely looking dire for Israel, just on a demographic level.

It's my understanding that it is occurring naturally on its own, anyways?

A few reporting I've heard on Israel describes a state filled with dual-citizenship inhabitants that are used to first-world standard and would rather leave the country than deal with inconveniences. I oversimplify here, but who really wants to live in a genocidal state? Whether you're on board or not with the genocide, it's still a massive point of friction with neighbors.

Every Canadian should know: Carney has financial ties with Jared Kushner, Trump's inlaw.

We're not led by an adversarial PM, that guy is just a banker that got coronated by the liberal party.

Everyone in a liberal riding should add their representant's phone number to their quick dial and get on their ass the second news like the digital tax drop. They will not fight for you, they might actually be captured altogether, you can't just sit by and expect Carney to be your white knight.

I don't mind exchanging good ideas and having treaties with Europe, but joining the EU is definitely too far.

We don't need more super-national organization binding us.

This is not a time to get hung up about identity politics, who's red, who's blue. Everyone should scream at the Trump regime that war with Iran is unacceptable and to never bring it up again.

There will be time for bickering afterwards about details, but right now, everyone against this war should circle the wagons.

And everyone not against this war needs to first say no to that war, second pick up an history book about Iraq and Afghanistan.

But Israel is not expanding into Iran or bombing civilian areas (yet)

Israel literally bombed apartment complex with scientists as part of their unprovoked attacks.

Best outcome here is the fall of Iranian islamic regime

A change of regime in Iran is the wet dream of Netanyahu. Just this should tell you how bad of a thing it is.

and people can take back their freedom

You need to read a bit on Libya and Syria, the gracious interventions by the west did NOT result in a blossoming LGTPDASODNA+ democracy haven.

Then explain your point better because you aren't making sense.

"there’s basically nothing to fix" => "I didn’t say no problems with immigration."

Hi woodworkers

I've recently picked up a few tools to get into artisanal woodwork, and I want to do 1 or 2 projects that entails hollowing out natural branches.

The "perfect" outcome would be something similar to bamboo shoot, which have a narrow edge and hollow center. I'm not really expecting to be able to do this by hand with millimetric accuracy, but it gives you an idea of what I'm aiming for.

I own a high-speed rotary tool that is "technically" able to carve wood, but the bits I own atm are more of a finish toolkit. I successfully used a sanding head to carve out some wood, but I don't think it's remotely optimal for projects any bigger than what I was working on.

So all this context leads to this question: What would be the optimal tool to efficiently hollow out a branch? I can't reliably use a drill, because there's no certainty that the branches I'll work with will be remotely straight, I'm guessing that a mill file could get me some mileage but it sounds like a last resort kind of tool.
