I've definitely had straight people throw their sexuality in my face. I don't even think it's a problem, most humans are sexual beings and we all exist on a bell curve of how much we like to express that.

Have you considered the issue you take specific to people from the LGBTQ community could be reflection of your view of them rather than a consequence of their actions.

There's a pretty big difference between criticizing Nazis and saying and entire population should be expelled.

I do not think this is the point they were making, like at all.

He wants to control dissent by manipulating the access to information. The same reason that Russia does it, the same reason that Canadian conservatives tried to do it.

The 'both sides' narrative is a trap that sabotages progress. Yes, establishment Democrats often disappoint. No, they're not the revolutionary force we need. But pretending they've done nothing while Republicans actively dismantle democracy is how we lose forever.

Democrats have:

  • $369 billion for green energy (largest climate investment in history)
  • Student debt cancellation for 4 million+ borrowers (despite GOP lawsuits)
  • Capped insulin at $35 while Republicans voted unanimously against it

And they did it while contending with

  • Republican-controlled House blocking everything since 2022 (2008 if you want to count the last time they had a majority bigger than a single vote to overturn)
  • Manchin/Sinema sabotaging key votes before that
  • A Supreme Court that's become a GOP policy arm

Republicans create systemic damage through tax cuts for rich, stacked courts and gerrymandering, Democrats spend years cleaning up, while getting blamed for 'not fixing it fast enough. Voters get disillusioned, GOP regains power, Repeat

We can demand better while acknowledging reality: Celebrate the IRA's climate wins and Push for Green New Deal Applaud student debt relief and Fight for free college Call out corporate Dems, without equating them with literal fascists Vote in more progressive Dems in primarys Like AOC, like Kat Abughazaleh and like Zohran Mamdani

But most importantly: STOP pretending incremental progress and active destruction are equally bad. That's not idealism it's suicide by political purity.

Who could have possibly predicted that Trump would side with Putin? What an utterly shocking development if only there had been years of obsequious praise, leaked intelligence to Russian officials, and repeated calls to dismantle NATO as clues! Truly, nobody saw this coming.

Unfortunately we voted the Democrats out of all the positions that could have actually hold Republicans accountable. Republicans never hold each other accountable.

I really understand the frustration, it's not enough but that's exactly why we need people like AOC in a position to hold Republicans accountable because at least we know they will, rather than establishment Democrats.
