I know it's not the most affirming, but in places like Missouri, Florida, Texas etc, people should just use they/them pronouns when talking with/about minors. Like, every kid.

Adults, ideally, can move states if they are oppressed to a more educated area of the country. Kids don't have that option, and until its safe for all children to be who they are in those states, we need to protect all of em

Then there's the whole not recycling old Ecar components, especially batteries, problem. Transportation going electric will only be environmentally sound if the related recycling industries are brought to a profitable scale...

Lovely catch22 from good ol capitalism

You should write for comics, or thank the one you borrowed from. A pothole joke that actually made me laugh out loud... Wonderful

This is a fucking fantastic read. I've been saying this to anyone who'll listen lately. When this dust settles we're still going to have to live with these people.

Looks like login is required now.

We did it Lemmy.

I'm assuming you've already taken all the legal steps available in your area.

MOVE!

They're alive, so you have support, you have a roof, use the time now to find places that can help you. Make calls, write emails.

Social nets, the few that exist, are still running their programs with the bootstrap mentality. But social programs can and will help you. There are 100% free often national services that have people who's job it is to find programs, file applications, get you to appointments etc.

I know he'd be offended, but lets not make estrogen a bad guy, eh?

I totally agree. I personally just try to be a part of influencing the.... culture? Of religion from a less antagonistic or opposing position. History has proven, piss off a country and religion may be used to retaliate, piss off a religion and countries will retaliate. Understanding people for what we all are in essence is something that has worked in my life on the micro scale, and despite having little to show for my efforts so far, I think its more than nothing...

I started my hormones almost three weeks ago as well. I wish they'd started me on 4mg like you, but I'm sure it will be adjusted at my 3 month check in.

It wonderful to read your thoughts and feel as if they are my own in such a way. Its actually very helpful, as past trauma and temporarily untreated ADHD make reflection to a similar level a real challenge for me, so thank you.

A couple of weeks prior to my HRT start date, I stumbled upon an app that I've firmly incorporated into my upwards trend of positive mental health choices, as well as specificlaly my transition. Its called Daily You (Android Repo, Available on Fdroid). Its a privacy friendly, and simple way to do a daily journal/Photo log/emotional log. I use it to take a selfie every night, and occasionally add a 1-2 sentence entry. There are more feature rich apps, but I've always found myself unable to commit to those daily for very long. I've not missed a day yet, and I know despite my mirror/pic shyness, I'll be happy to at least have them for myself.

Agreed. I'm a Socialist Bi/Pan Transwoman and a "Christian" for lack of less tinged and equivalently brief word.

I choose to look at these types of things as opportunities to praise good opinions.

Whenever the collapse happens, assuming there are still people around, we'll still have to live with people after the fact. Accepting the inevitability of "religious thoughts" and helping to mold and shape those ideas is better than failing to remove them entirely.

Also, its a healthier mindset in general, for me at least.

If the university president sucked your dick for breakfast every morning it wouldn't matter. Way to pick up on the least emphasized and important point to fuel your gate boner.

Great points, but even my girlmath keeps thinking about this:

"...some 75% of surveyed lesbian, gay, and bi people told Pew Research Center that they were accepting of open marriages last year, versus just 33% of all adults. With all the extra attention, one hopes the 77% of Americans who aren’t open to open..."

I'm currently in my first poly relationship of about 7 months, and I gotta say it's shocking how not-wierd it is. I knew going into the relationship that partner was poly and had a boyfriend, and I decided to set aside my preconceptions and I'm glad I did. I'm sure I would feel differently had my partner not been open, honest, and mature, but the same could be said of any relationship.
