Well, go do something about the Nazis and people will stop talking about them. If you want a feed to the world outside of your head, thay means dealing what what everyone else is talking about.

You can always just go jerk off in the shower and STFU about it

There are those out there that just auto-downvote the Examiner because Tim Bousquet has the gal to talk back to political leaders.

There are many cases of authoritarians claiming labels that so not reflect their actions or goals, yes.

Federation takes time

Bluesky isn't a twitter alternative, it's staged opposition. It's backed by the crypto industry. It's going to follow everything else that's supported by the tech bros.

I'd be surprised. They've actually been federating for months now. Maybe they've seen a rush of signups kicking the tires, and that's expanded the firehose?

Recommendation engines aren't the biggest issue. People will figure out how to fins what they want, and be generally happy with that, if looking is easy enough.

The big issue is that "join the fediverse" is a really, really shitty and incomplete recommendation. It's like "join the blogosphere!"

And "join Mastodon" or "join Lemmy" is bad, too. It's like asking them to "join Joomla".

You need to point people to the specific website they should join, and that website has to already have what they're looking for. People aren't interested in building something.

They just want to consume.

Most people have no idea about the fetish circles and the languaged used in relation to them. They recoil at "fediverse" not because of sex association, but because it's a really lame sounding name.

"I don't want AOLers on the web. The open internet should just be for us enlightened few"

JFC, * don't want you pricks on the fedi. Can't you go back to BBSes or something and wank each other there?

Phones have web browsers. You can view websites easily from your phone.

Apps give them access to everything. You can request access to contact lists, even, and most people won't even think twice to allowing access.
