Karma is a net negative for actual community creation and meaningful discussion.

Discord has no uses that isn't already covered by other options, though. Their biggest feature is publicity.

Host the project in a country where IP laws don't give Nintendo any teeth.

dumb people can't figure out math or make long term plans

Wow, a smug, sanctimonious, self-congratulatory asshole who spends thousand words making the problem just a little bit worse rather than exhibiting even just a little bit of understanding or empathy for others who are in different circumstances or come fr a different background, who also thinks some technology is also the solution to a social problem.

Shocking!

Try again, only this time without letting yourself believe that other people are just dumber than you. Because you sound downright mid.

It definitely looked like it had no chill.

Starfinder. I was looking into adventures with Starfinder 2 was announced, and just shelved it, because of course I'd rather play the new, shiny space game, rather than the one built on a 20 year old chassis.

They have a whiff of the possibility of AIG becoming a reality.

They also had a wiff of NFTs letting them sell and claim royalties on JPEGs. This isn't about some grand vision if humanity's future, it's about becoming the next Silicon Valley billionaire, or dethroning the richest man in the world. If the next big tech get-rich-quick scheme comes along, the novelty of their very expensive autocomplete and JPEG mashup projects will be dead, and they'll take their dollrs on to the next fad.

He's looking at this as an echo of past Silicone Valley bubbles. It so much more than that.

Citation-fucking-needed.

If they want public money, maybe they should offer up public ownership, eh?

No? Just want to keep it all for themselves? Go figure.

Bailey's beads only last for a handful of seconds, though.

Yeah, my photography issues were similar, re: unfamiliar context. I'm still puzzled as to why the quicksetting menu works totally differently when using it in mirrorless mode. But oh well. There's always... 2044?!?!? Oh, crap.

I admit, other than a better lens with a tighter view, the bits of equipment I really wished I'd invested in were a tracking motor and a shutter remote. I paid zero attention to my camera during totality, but I still had this nagging voice in the back of my head telling me that I should check my centering, and I didn't need that.

The most prominent red dot visible during totality was the big loop prominence that you have at 5 o'clock in your image here. On Monday night, I compared my pre-totality images with those from the Solar Dynamics Observatory, and was able to use the sunspot clusters to match their orientation. The brightest of the red dots was right where the loop is.
