While it's true that everyone should have access to the national parks, you have to understand that raising that issue in the current context works to amplify the "fuck immigrants" messaging of the Sun. So, yeah, you should go take a hike in the woods.

Everyone up to the age of 17, I believe.

They've been living here for years, contributing to our communities and paying taxes while not receiving the benefits of citizenship. Then they've had to study for and take a test, and swear and oath to a foreign monarch that natural born citizens have never been subjected to.

Giving them a park pass they're probably not going to use isn't hurting you any.

Thing is, that knife cuts both ways, and some people find it rude when you don't use proper punctuation.

I would personally interpret the short burst thing as a tantrum, FWIW, or some other form of disregulation.

To make things more confusing, responding to an invitation to drinks with "k!" might be ok, depending on who's asking and the context.

If it's your roommate asking, and they're doing it because there's a sporting event or because drinks are an established ritual, it'd be fine. If it's your boss, or a new (potential) friend or colleague, a possible romantic interest, or a close friend and it's not something they usually do or invite you out for, then those situations have a lot more weight, and expect a more fulsome and engaged reply.

I was trying to figure that out earlier, and I'm not 100% certain. The distance scales involved make me believe that it's a timelapse, but I'm not sure how quickly solar eruptions play out, and I can't find any quick references to timestamps.

I suspect the data is available somewhere on the esa's website, but I haven't had the spoons to go looking yet

There's a reason the rings around Saturn were discovered over 400 years ago, and the rings around Uranus were discovered in 1977.

I'm sure what the NatPo has to say about this is honest and in good faith.

No? I said the opposite of that.

The question I was answering was "why aren’t there more employee owned companies?" And the answer is it's a lot harder to get seed money for those, because the rent seeking parasites don't want them to exist.

In the video, the surface of the sun appears furred with dark yellow material as beams of gold swoop overhead.

The colour is artificial, added in wholesale in post to enhance contrast (and mesh with cultural expectations of what the sun would look like), or the result of a filter.

But holy shit. The video is just jaw dropping.

They don't fulfill the fantasy of being a rent-seeking social parasite.

If he had put himself in the trailer, the doors would have to be open. You'd think the cops could at least be arsed to look inside in that case.
