I dislike Kotaku, but I still think that cheering this decision on is a bad thing, because if this works then more and more companies with better journalism will probably be replaced.

Why would anybody move to Odysee? There's no content there.
Why would any creator move to Odysee? There's no audience there.

I agree with this, most social medias don't have these kinds of names for general people, sure people who make Youtube videos are Youtubers, but people who watch youtube videos are not Youtubites or something. We can just be Lemmy users, or Kbin users

Maybe I'm crazy, but I kinda doubt that this is likely to be killed off. It's not it's own platform like Reddit, it just takes content that's more likely to be made by people from websites like Reddit, blogs, and other social media platforms and puts it all in one place.
But who knows with Google.

I don't follow news with Epic much, but what do they have to do with Starfield or physical games?

Last time Bethesda said anything about the Elder Scrolls 6 they said it was in preproduction. I doubt they'll really start working on it until Starfield is out.

I hate living in a world where undercover agents are sent to all ages "Drag Queen Christmas" events

Yeah, it is very possible for us to not let Meta win. Acting like the Fediverse is doomed isn't productive at all.

I feel like a good lawyer should do a tiny bit of research before letting AI write a court brief. At least enough to read the 2 warnings on the ChatGPT site about how it can generate inaccurate information.

If I understand correctly, when a Kbin user boosts a Lemmy post, it will work like an upvote, bringing it up. But it wouldn't affect anything for Lemmy users. But when a Lemmy user upvotes a post from a Kbin user, it will just be shown as an upvote but not effect reputation or anything, but will upvote it for lemmy users.
