The claim isn’t that they stop nothing, it’s that they prevent none of the cancer causing stuff.

You’re not actually preventing any health issues, but you sure feel better about having another drag.

Against.

To block it would just further a false sense of privacy. The votes are already public, this just makes that data very slightly more accessible. To pretend otherwise is simply burying our heads in the sand.

The privacy would be a facade tbh.

I think we’re just all excited to be penetrated.

I think it very much depends on the situation. If I’m already securely housed and have reliable income for food? No fucking way. If I have a kid who might end up living on the street (or honestly, taken from me by the state) if I don’t find money? I’d at least give this a fleeting thought.

This feels like an odd one to make into an anime. I enjoyed it, but it also… wouldn’t want it as an anime as originally written.

So one understood the assignment.

I mean, one compromised account leading to a massive influx of spam is a legitimate concern.

You can’t always assume “happy path”.

“How to disable this opt in feature”: “don’t turn it on”

I get that Lemmy is a bastion for M$ hate but FUD articles get annoying.

To be fair, one of those is much, much easier to remember. Honestly I don’t even know how to pronounce verisimilitude.

Hell, you can buy with cash. Walk to a local big box store and buy a steam wallet/gift card. That is assuming you live somewhere that has that option, of course.

Online, usually. Though you can technically use debit in some places.

Wondering if anyone else is having issues with the latest dev beta? The app “works” but any sort of navigation using the tabs results in a blank screen. Can kinda work around it by going to “add” a new account then backing out immediately.

Seems to happen on direct voyager website access as well.

Edit: Screen rotation seems to work as well.
