No hate on FF mobile from me, but I can objectively say Chrome, at least visually and subjectively, performs noticably faster than FF. That said, I still prefer FF over Chrome.

The secret is definitely to have good hardware compatibility, as that address 99% of the issues people have, but anything that requires a lot of free time and motivation to keep learning is, I would say, hard by definition.

It doesn't federate though. So if you stand your own "discord" server up, you can't message anyone and have to ask people to join it. Matrix allows you to not just set up your own server but also interact with everyone else's servers so you're not isolated. Revolt is nice, but you're, like discord, limiting yourself to a single instance who has access to everyone's data.
