I think it accomplishes nothing except pushing people away, it's not changing anyone's minds.

Do you have scientific sources for that?

civility masks the abject horror of the world we live in. civility is the false peace -- it's a peace marked by masking of tension rather than any resolution of it. our world is not peaceful

Real mlk-yes energy.

but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season."

Shallow understanding from people of goodwill is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection."

Thanks. I fully support your decisions, especially after having had a look at that post and some comments.

They used the "Be civil" rule to delete your comment?! Puritanical reactionary homophobes and transphobe mods who don't react to the problematic stuff in the comment but enforce Hollywood style rules.

I got my comment deleted in lemmy.world for openly supporting pansexuals love for goat men, but then in the same thread they allowed another person to actively bash trans people.

Could you link me to it please? There is this unpleasant feeling with how transphobic, racist, ableist sentiments can be shared freely and then non "normative" non US centric things get shut down quite fast, nearly as fast as with tone policing.

Communism Will Win Johanson, which of the given names will the teachers use?

It is an example of an extreme restriction of free speech and control that is more totalitarian than propaganda about AES. Of course it is discriminatory against various language principles. In that sense it is a continuity with the want to control of elites, be they feudal or capitalist, and it is also a continuity to genocidal colonialist expansions and forced "assimilation" of people.

Absolutely. Even higher fines ought to be discussed (like maybe the victim ought to get a claim to the company in addition to the fine)?

Also lol @ the judge: 2 month later we would ignore workers' losing limbs

I felt this kind of discussion is disingenious. Even if it was because of a defederation, the actions of a few users shouldn't be taken as approval for those actions on behalf of the entire instance.

That is true, but it is quite funny to assume all ferral cats and owls of hexbear are that organized. However what you worked out there is the structural antisemitic character of that linked user's thought.

@JuneFall@hexbear.net will be interested in these numbers. I think this makes defence and even winning significantly more viable than our previous discussion, these numbers do not look large enough nor committed enough to succeed.

Absolutely share your estimate on this. Will only be enough to control core areas when the defending forces aren't able to concentrate and is more a "playing the support of the populace". Military I wouldn't give Ecowas strong likelihood of achieving their goal (except when Mali/Niger/Burkina Faso military units defect). So slim change only?

The sanctions are an interesting tidbit and are hitting the areas mentioned in the other post. However with gold you can easily buy stuff, that the three countries have in large quantities. Thanks for adding me!
