NextCloud is a full collaborative platform that includes file-sharing, file-editing, chat, calendars, to-do lists, mail, and more. Does Sync-in provide similar features, or is it only focused on file-sync and collaborative file-editing? Is it really an alternative for NextCloud?

It is fairly cheap. Buy something (https://www.wolfswinkel.nl/) and let us know what you found out.

It looks Chinese white-label that is branded in the Netherlands. There is also a Dutch company selling very similar products all over Africa with South-Africa as the main hub: https://greenmeetsafrica.com/

Sure, it can go wrong, it is not fool-proof. Just like building a new model can cause unwanted surprises.

BTW. There are many theories about Grok's unethical behavior but this one is new to me. The reasons I was familiar with are: unfiltered training data, no ethical output restrictions, programming errors or incorrect system maintenance, strategic errors (Elon!), publishing before proper testing.

No. You would use a base model (GPT-4o) to get a reliable language model to which you would add a set of rules that the chat bot follows. Every company has its own rules, it is already widely in use to add data like company-specific manuals and support documents. Not rocketscience at all.

And now we wait to see how fast Paramount cancels this show for financial reasons.

Although the Red Bull situation is obvious because it is openly on the table, there are also teams linked via other ways. Parts manufacturers, engine manufacturers, sponsors, etc can be included. But also you can think of Toto Wolff as co-owner of Mercedes AMG and manager of Esteban Ocon. And then, what if a driver halfway through the season signs for a different team for the next season?

"[...] a bizarre world of violence, greed, and hungry women."

First 20 minutes is very scientific, then it gets more practical. Also explanations of the SpyGate scandal and how the inerter/J-Damper was involved in that.

Instead of 'express concern', we would like to see 'condemns the attack'. Similar to their reaction of the Iran attacks on Israel on October 1st, 2024

it’s that the brake is on the extreme right of the pedal box

I would have learned something new if that was the case. Any documentation on that?

Ollie says "right foot brake" which is different from modern F1 with two pedals where the left foot only is for breaking.

I also found a nice article explaining the reasons and the technique: https://www.hpacademy.com/technical-articles/mastering-heel-and-toe/

Here you can see how it is done in a rally car, which should be very similar to what Prost needs to do: https://youtube.com/shorts/WLIL2priaVU

Basically, they rev the engine and then release the clutch so the engine rpm matches the road-speed in the lower gear. It allows for faster release of the clutch.

They are all hiding their faces. They know damn well they will be put for a Nuremberg tribunal one day.

In the unlikely event that you can not find a European alternative, you may have to consider buying a US branded product. On this website you can look up the brand and see its politics.

Lando Norris got his first win in Miami in 2024, but Max Verstappen's annoyed reactions were not from the Miami cooldown room but instead from the Dutch Grand Prix later that year 👀

The (2?) maintainers of Fluent Assertions have changed the license in the GitHub repository from Apache 2 to a proprietary commercial license. This happened yesterday, it looks like the other 200 contributors were not asked. Commercial users can now buy a license for $130 per developer, per year.

There are some suggestions that the take-over and the new license are violating some articles in the Apache 2 license.

My question is: Suppose that -with reasonable certainty- the maintainers and new owners violated the Apache 2 license. Is there anything that can be done? Is there any way violations like this can be brought to court?

(I'm just asking, not using FluentAssertions and not involved nor affected by this).

Strange Parts

carved an iPhone out of a solid block of aluminum and turned it into a working custom phone. It took him over a year, from measuring every tiny part to carefully using a CNC machine to cut the complex shapes and fit all the pieces together. This is the first step toward a future where anyone can make their own unique smartphone!

The FIA is currently being rocked by stories of mis-management, mass firings, and corruption. For months now, the FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem has shown top level staff the door by removing them, or forcing them out. F1’s drivers have spoken out against him but this week, there have been yet more sackings. That is becoming the norm at the FIA though, what isn’t normal is the corruption and miss-spending of funds which has been exposed by those removed.

Motorsport's governing body wants to change its rules to limit the ways its leadership can be held to account for bad governance.

A set of revisions to the statutes governing the audit and ethics committees has been circulated to member clubs to be approved at a vote of the FIA general assembly on 13 December.

These would ensure that any ethics complaints were overseen by the FIA president and president of its senate, rather than the senate itself.

And they would remove the power of the audit committee to investigate financial issues independently.

Presentation about F1 lighting starts at around 7:11

This webinar was organized by Signify, makers of lighting equipment. DZ Engineering srl is a system integrator that installs and removes the lighting at a couple of circuits, including Las Vegas.

Serious question! I want to hide all posts about the American politics and their president. How to do that?

Edit: Thank you everyone! I was searching in the wrong location, thanks to your comments I found the keyword-filters in my app. Problem solved for me.
