This is much more accurate, I'd say, though probably still incomplete:

How is it for you?

Just because you can turn it off for yourself doesn't mean the problem no longer exists.

I don't think I talk about hockey or the Canucks very much (at all?), and other than this brand new community I don't think I talk about AI making mistakes that much. But, I can't really remember.

In general I'd say it's made a lot of stuff up and exaggerated things based on limited information.

What AI/LLM is that btw?

Not everyone is savvy enough to turn it off, for one. The average person isn't even going to think about turning it off. That means a lot of people are now being fed a top search result that is the wrong info half of the time. Not just the wrong webpage, but actually the wrong information.

For another thing, it shouldn't be on by default if it's so bad. If this was a traditional bug giving you incorrect search results half the time, it wouldn't be released. But because of this AI race that's happening, google is willing to release this massive bug live, and on by default. We should be complaining about it!

I also think part of the problem is that it seems really useful. At first glance it seems like it has quickly and succinctly summarized the information that is deep inside other web pages, and presented the answer to specifically what i was looking for (quite confidently, at that.) It's very easy to fall into a trap of trusting the information told to you.

Either way you can't trust this top result, because it's dumb.

However, specifically to what you're saying, the part of the Wikipedia article that is highlighted in purple was set by the AI,and directly contradicts the AI. That part of the article was talking about the classic edition of Trivial Pursuit, so there was nothing wrong with the article.

Yeah, it requested an email address.

Your blocker must be blocking that.

Some politician posted a video of "drones" in the sky and it was literally the constellation of Orion.

Having to provide an email address is a paywall.

I like chia seeds to replace eggs in flour-based stuff (baked goods, pancakes, etc.) One tablespoon of chia seeds soaked in 2 1/2 to 3 tablespoons of water for 5 minutes replaces one egg.

I started doing it for my cholesterol (chia seeds have a much better polyunsaturated fat ratio) but then I found I actually really like it. They work generally the same but add a little crunch without changing the flavour.

I'm not usually eating baked goods for the vitamins, so what I'm missing from the eggs (B12, for example) I'll get from other sources. Also, chia seeds can be kept on hand for a long time without refrigeration, so they're a good survival food :D

That's what I was going to say!
