I wonder if the capitalist perspective isn’t driven by the perception of ready supply/demand of people that will, at least initially, apply to take shit jobs/compensation.

Smoking is up there. Just close your eyes, atomize the world in front of you, and draw it in through the small, paper tube. Open your eyes and exhale a bit of yourself back into the world.
I like the parts of Canada where we don’t plow. Just toss a bit of sand on it and drive over top of it until it melts in the spring. Kinda works in like a “lowered expectations” way.
