I'm not in the European continent, but thanks for the tip. I'll try with UK. I tried with NZ and it didn't work.

baseball seems like a natural fit because Japan also love their baseball. so next sport should be something like that as well.

is it basketball?

It's not more well known for now because the API and integration is still in alpha testing.

Sorry, I mixed up stories and didn't verify. He was not part of Justin TV. Should have checked. I edited my comment but leaving up my blunder.

RedditAlternative is such a weird place though. Most of the time they trip over themselves to use anything else buy the fediverse lol

Oh btw those who don't know, vshojo is not his first business. He ~~founded Justin.TV and that became twitch.tv. that also was about to shut down because mismanagement but somehow got Amazon to buy it.~~ was part of the team that founded twitch.Tv. sorry, massive misinformation from. I mixed up stories and didn't verify.

I had no expectations how gunrun would reply and I'm still disappointed.

WIth such a business model, when kson joined, I wondered how vsj would keep themselves afloat. it's not like they're phase connect, a coffee selling company which happens to have vtubers. vsj doesn't have a staple product they can sell for high margin.

well, the answer to my question is apparently they don't. what a massive fuck up.

I'm heartbroken and disappointed with vshojo. fuck them. but the JP CEO, makino, did try to separate JP and EN, but now with a lot more vsj talents speaking up, there's no chance in hell EN is going to let JP separate. Especially so that if makino is to be believed, JP side was doing well.

Therefore EN really did fucked up lots.

I've been using the Elecom Deft Pro and Huge for a few years now. Huge I haven't used anymore for months. I guess I'll start there.

Cons of the Huge is, well, it's huge. The wrist rest area is awkwardly angled for my wrist, especially if I'm using ~~my stupidly purchased weeb mousepads, IYKYK~~ a separate wrist rest. It makes me put my whole arm way to extended. Otherwise I like the huge ball size. Speaking of angles, I never really tried to get wedges to bring the Huge more vertical. I did put a small wrist rest on the left side to bring it up a bit and do find it more comfortable.

On to the Deft Pro, cons would be I'd like it to be a bit bigger I think? Especially the ball, but it's functionally solid. Works much better with a separate wrist rest. Since it's small it's my office mouse that I lug around in my bag.

Both have started to get unintended double clicks. I never really have that much stiction problems with mine, but maybe my standard is low as these are the only two trackball mice I use.

Should I go with the ploopy classic? but I'll miss the extra buttons the elecoms have. not that I use it for anything important, mind you. I just assigned shortcuts to go left/right of tabs in my browser.

Maybe the adept? I never has a symmetrical trackball since the PS/2 kensington Orbit I knicked from my dad's stash that started my on my trackball journey.

Should I go with the gameball? Like I do game, but not in anything PVP or competitive.

Or should I just buy a new Deft Pro? I really don't have that much to complain. Even the ball size is a nitpick I could live with. The Huge really has to fix it's hugeness. So I wouldn't really buy it again.

I've been meaning to stop my Spotify sub because saving more money how ever small it may be. But I kind of like the discovery part of it.

Been using YouTube (Music) again for music listening honestly because it does have YouTube only artists and songs (not in an official partnership or similar, just that that's where people only upload there to share kind of thing), as well as live versions and in general the tons of covers, remixes and such.

Truth be told I like what YTM algorithm gives me recently.

Having said that, I am open to hear suggestions that further divorces from big tech.

I don't mind for anime/movies/shows as I rely on word of mouth in the various chat groups I'm already in. Maybe I should extend to music focused groups too?

I'm asking for a friend, since I also am interested.

"Speaking of food tracking, anyone know of anything simple that will let me do that. Used to have one but they all turned into sub fees and pushing upgrades and meal plans and crap

I just want to be able to select an apple or compile ingredients totals into a sandwich recipe I don't need to pay $8 a month for that"

I might as well look for FOSS ones

Aliexpress having a summer sale, I might as well grab a couple cables to replace my bedside one and one that'll live in my bag.

I'm not sure if this is an app bug or an API bug, but just in case I'll post here.

It's been stuck in the same sorting of give or take 2 months' posts. I noticed it recently on the version when piefed.social support is enabled.

Other sortings works the same.

So far I've tried Metrolist, Outertune and Kreate, and none of them can.

I assume this is a limitation somehow, but asking here just in case there is an app that can.

TIA

Edit: I've looked at this open source music streaming list and tried SimpMusic. And hey presto it can do what I wanted to do.

The issue for me with Metrolist and Outertune is that it can only do local playlist that can be synced to my YT Music account. It could mean that say if I save my "MUsiiic" playlist from YTM as a local playlist, then enable sync to YTM, it would create double playlist.

I assume SimpMusic does the same somehow but it looks like I "turn on" save to local and sync it back to YTM. I checked and it didn't make duplicate playlist.

Edit 2025-05-28: One flaw -- not a giant one, but is making me look again -- that I found is that the sleep timer cannot do "end of song". So close to perfection, but this is a feature I use a lot. I'll have to look into their issues and see if someone already asked for it or not.

I'm getting back into using Firefox mainly because of multi account containers. Basically I can open the same website logged in to different accounts by making it into it's kind of a sandboxy thing. That's the main draw at least.

There's also a bunch of more technical stuff explained herehttps://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/containers

Multi-Account Containers is an extension developed by Mozilla that allows you to separate your browsing experience into different color-coded tabs, to help protect your privacy. By using these containers, you can categorize their browsing based on purpose and create tabs for Work, Banking, Shopping and Personal browsing. For an extra layer of privacy, you can also integrate Mozilla VPN.

Not sure if I want to just follow the default ones and make a few more generalized containers, or make it semi-specialized like having only one container just for Xitter for example.

I've encountered a bug, I think, where in piefed it didn't show the whole content of the post.

Here's the view:

1. From OP's home instance:

2. From piefed:

P.S.: Piefed did show the full image very well. Good job there. The issue is all the other part of the post not showing.

Here's the post:

Both are windows machines. I know, don't need to preach about it.

I like how I set up the Firefox install on my PC and getting around to using it again for work because of multi account containers. Did the testing on my personal PC in case some things break with the hardening I chose for my threat model.

I just don't want to repeat the steps again, even if I already know what worked for me.

I found online that I could just copy the Firefox profile folder. Is that just it?

EDIT: if it's the copy profile way, is the profile from a base Firefox compatible for other forks? If it's not the profile copying way, is the other ways compatible moving from base firefox to its forks?

TIA
