The main advantage ios has over Android is its lack of support for virtualization (like java). This makes their apps much less resource hungry, faster, and the phone does not slow down as much over time. Given the fact that idiotic apps like Instagram and Facebook need supercomputers to run on Android the difference for the end user is a huge gulf performancewise. It must be a nightmare for developers though.

For people who know what they are doing it is very easy to maintain the software health on android and keep it running fast over time. If you don't though usage of apps like the ones mentioned above will make it run like a commodore in months.

Haha true that. This was inevitable btw, the further capitalism develops the more its will absorb everything. Religion is done for, community is done for, bourgie democracy is dying, next come nationality I guess, the environment is already compromised. It truly is a vampiric black hole.

Well it is Bourgeois democracy that's slowly been consumed by corporate power. Globally

Well, I have nothing against old Epicurus, just unrestricted hedonism.

I dislike hedonism in the case it antagonizes discipline. There are many cases where our desires overcome our sense of self and end up as addictions. I guess what I dislike is formless desire unrestricted by rationality. Self-discipline = sense of self = good.

It is my view that everything is political, how could a way of thinking about desire not be? Hedonism in particular is perfectly suited for the current consumer culture which claims to satisfy our every want, which treats desire as the ultimate drive in the world and monetizes it. Participation in market economy is addictive and erodes our sense of self. It weakens us as individuals and prepares us for its hierarchies.

I like Marx and am iffy about Lenin. I also consider myself a libertarian regarding most issues and dislike hedonism. That doesn't put me somewhere specific regarding ideology but that's that.

The expanse is probably the best sci fi series of recent past. It is only comparable to classics like Asimov and le Guin in quality, although it has a very different philosophy and style.

I tried lemmur on fdroid but I think it's dead. Hasn't received updates in months and will not load anything.

This is true. Leave the corporate to themselves and preserve the community.
