Every time you ask something to an LLM it's random, and the randomness is controlled by what is called temperature. Good feeling responses come from LLMs with moderate temperature values, including chatgpt. This means putting the prompt in and getting a different response is expected, and can't disprove the response another person got.

Additionally, people are commonly creating there own "therapist" or "friend" from these LLMs by teaching them to respond in certain ways, such as being more personalized and encouraging instead of being correct. This can lead to a feedback loop with mentally ill people that can be quite scary, and it's possible that even if a fresh chatgpt chat doesn't give a bad response it's still capable of these kinds of responses

You're not required to have a jury (as you mentioned), and the current lawyer meta for "complicated" cases (such as cryptocurrency cases that are seen as too technical or boring) is to request a bench trial.

A relatively recent example is Trump's civil fraud case, where the prosecutor requested a bench trial. It was rumored that the defence attorney forgot a checkbox to make it a jury trial, but in reality they just chose not to file a motion.

I'll share my experience with my very unprofessional but working setup.

I have two locations, both using retired PCs. I don't need anything fancy, but some considerations could be GPU/encoding hardware if you wanted something like jellyfin/Plex. I use proxmox and proxmox backup server for managing everything and so far it's been working well. Definitely not plug and play like an aio nas but that's because a nas wasn't my only goal as I needed cameras (frigate) and homeassistant.

I would highly recommend headscale/tailscale (as others have suggested) as it "just works" when setup in my experience. This enables safe remote access without opening any ports on your families networks so you can troubleshoot if something did break.

Regardless of which solution you decide to use, the most important part about having a backup is testing. If you can't see when your backups fail or don't know how to recover you may as well not have a backup.

It's complicated, Linus at home wants the baby easy setup that just works, and in his mind Linux will only meet that need for him once steamos is out. He accidentally nuked his pop_os! installation setup if that tells you how software illiterate he can be sometimes.

There team is very different in opinions and it's not uncommon for them to be making an amazing server build that's clearly on linux. They use MacOS for their video editors. It's just more complicated than any one sentence can boil it down to.

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY with any amount of psychology education actually think Freud was right on anything. He was the biggest pseudoscientist of all time.

See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oedipus_complex#Criticism

Studies conducted of children's attitudes to parents at the oedipal stage do not demonstrate the shifts in positive feelings that are predicted by the theory.[54] Case studies that Freud relied upon, such as the case of Little Hans, could not be verified through research or experimentation on a larger population.[55] Adolf Grünbaum argues that the type of evidence Freud and his followers used, the clinical productions of patients during analytic treatment, by their nature cannot provide cogent observational support for Freud's core hypotheses.[56]

Evolutionary psychologists Martin Daly and Margo Wilson, in their 1988 book Homicide, argue that the Oedipus complex theory yields few testable predictions. They find no evidence of the Oedipus complex in people. There is evidence of parent–child conflict but it is not for sexual possession of the opposite sex-parent.[57]

According to psychiatrist Jeffrey Lieberman, Freud and his followers resisted subjecting his theories, including the Oedipus theory, to scientific testing and verification.[58] Lieberman claims that investigations based in cognitive psychology either contradict or fail to support Freud's ideas.[58]

I mean the joke is the subversion of gender roles, reversing it just makes it not funny.

The dev joke is fine, clearly that's not a vibe coder but a developer who is lazy and wants job security. It's just funny the contrast between the fields (especially since it's much more harmful to the artists with the stealing of the art).

I love to hate on things but it's just not that serious. If you don't like it that's fine but the quality doesn't seem to be in freefall

It's true, but I have A) family at home and B) the ability to (with the remote tools) stop prints, get screenshots at a consistent interval of time, and immediately get error messages. I accept the risks whenever I do decide to print unattended

Tldr: Did Bambu address the issue, and should I look into updating firmware now.

For context, I got a Bambu Printer just before they released the changes to improve "security" and have been on old firmware since. I was looking at the Bambu Wiki and saw this page that indicated that all of the important LAN functions would be opened up. Unfortunately it requires being on LAN only mode, but I've been on LAN only since January because of their changes so it doesn't effect me much.

I'm not dependent on their cloud features as I am home a substantial amount of the time and I have a server for when I'm not (to use home assistant or wtv). From my point of view the developer mode seems to address my issues, but I wanted to know some other people's thoughts on the whole controversy and how it was addressed by Bambu.

About 1000 people came out, for every 1 person with a middle finger, thumbs down, or trump paraphernalia there were 50 people cheering and honking! Really positive experience.

US question, but why don't Democrats just vote for impeachment basically every day? Whether it's for the Jack Smith findings, the unwillingness to hold up the 14th amendment, whatever. Like, is there a statute of limitations for impeachment? Is there a limited number of crimes valid for it?

Even if it never succeeded, it would send a message that he needs to be careful and if he makes too many Republicans mad he could lose his job.

I was talking to my dad yesterday and he talked about how he dual booted windows and Linux in his college days. I immediately left to download Ubuntu, I feel so dumb for forgetting it's an option. I literally only use windows so I can play Fortnite with friends. PSA: you can have both Linux and Windows, or you can use a vm in Linux. Be (mostly) free from Microsoft's clammy hands.
