According to those understanding what it means to be human.

Because ethics, compassion, love, etc aren't dependant on religion, they're basic human values.
Bottom line: if I'm forced to consume ads on a device belonging to me - I will rather throw it away!
Kiwi here, originally European so I get content in two languages and from people with some interests in similar. Good percentage of local and international stuff generally keeps me happy. (Not too concerned/glad about overall numbers - there's no continuous growth on a finite planet)
I've seen an article that describes opting out of the app integration as well (even though that by default it'll be on. There should be a class action against Google doing that! That said, I can't see Europe taking this as it is.)
Web search would be a better term since a lot of people use other search engines than Google.
Let's face it the problem is mostly the people. If AI was as super duper as claimed to be it would be able to construct advertising that makes everyone go: 'Yeah, I have to have this, it's useful, ethical, the bees knees really. '
The little advertising that still makes it over my thresholds is bad to abominable and of that what registers for me has the opposite affect it intents - I go out of my way to avoid it.
Hope no one was hurt, regardless whether they're stupid, distracted or whatever! If we can't build fail-saves into cars, what are our chances for real AI?
My main question would be: does it include protection from Google itself?
Really quite simple. If you possibly cause additional harm then even the idea of executing an apology is stupid. No?
Haha, when you're married and lost for a babysitter you'll change your mind, when you want recipes, stories about your parents, and a million other things besides their love, caring... but if you miss out on that or don't value it your life will be poorer for it, no matter how much money you have in the bank.
