I took a look at mcmasters finances, back of the napkin math, it looks like they get about 100 mil in investment revenue. they mention revenue per domestic student is around 40k... if 2500 students unenrolled at the same time as a general tuition strike the university might care as thats where they get most of their revenue (though I imagine attempts to enroll more international students...) i attached images of their financial report with the numbers i used. also names of all the investment consultants.
