Repo the Genetic Rock Opera. It's bad but it just oozes campiness in the best ways.

Webpunk sounding off!
I know I'm going to step in it by commenting, but the polls are usually accurate. It's how they're reported that's not. The data from polls themselves often say how limited in scope they are, but that doesn't make a good headline and never makes it into the story. It takes a real nerd to be interested in stats and real stats are boring.
100% of that 30% don't want to and will call you a Demon-crat or a RINO for even pointing it out.
If you're saying everyone is providing your point, I think you disproved your own point.
They're doing it because we are conditioned to want it.
Conditioning a behavior is basic psych101. It's a controlled external stimulus which illicits a desirable action from the subject. So a conditioned consumer is subject to external stimulie which illicits them to spend. I wouldn't blame the subject here, I'd blame the one doing the conditioning.
Regardless of all that, you are right but so wrong. We are all to blame, but I mean corporations and us. Politicians and the oligarchs aren't responsible for what you or I do. What they are responsible for is manipulating systems to benefit themselves over the interests of the general public.
Since politicians and the business elite wield so much influence that makes them more responsible than you or I who really can't make a big difference on our own. You're blaming the proletariat for being the proletariat, but we don't choose whether or not we are. You can work as hard as you can your entire life and you'll never amount to the level of power and influence Elon, Jeff, Mark, Bill, or Steve had/have.
I don't have friends but I do have family. Being one of the few who actually make Christmas happen it's not fun anymore. Christmas isn't fun it's work and then it's a whole bunch of complaining from ungrateful family. I just keep telling myself the same lie my parents told themselves and say it's all for the kids but it's not. I don't even really know what it's for anymore.
It's actually spelt LIngta' but maybe closer to LIngt'a' or to be specific a LIngt'a' Haj'dob mev'obDeSna. Translated to English is roughly 'I am certain that this Lingta leg will feed you'. But Klingons are lazy so it's shortened to LIngta.
You have those backwards, flammable means it can easily catch fire in the presence of an ignition source. Inflammable means it can easily catch fire even without an ignition source. I remember the different because inflammable is Immediately flammable without help.
As a foreigner who's spent a lot of time in America, this may actually be good for Trump. I am not 100% sure how elections work in the US, but at most this will keep his name off a ballot Trump would never win and at best it will ensure his name has to be on every ballot. Assuming the SCOTUS overturns it, it sets a precedent that the POTUS is not an officer and therefore isn't included in any legal language that concerns officers. Which opens up expansion of the powers of the executive. Still assuming that the SCOTUS overturns it it could play right into the Project 2025 playbook.
Part of me thinks half of the reason Stargate did so well was because of the culture of the post-9/11 world. Westerners and Americans in particular got to watch SG1 fight people who looked what they thought terrorists looked like. Admittedly they're not Muslims they're more akin to Ancient Egyptians aliens. Insofar as Western culture in the early 2000s the early season villains are Muslim adjacent. I don't think it was intentional, the movie came out long before 9/11. It was just in the right place at the right time. The show got a lot better once the Gua'uld and the Jaffa weren't the villains of the week.
Keeping that tidbit in my head rent free. That's a big brain move if I've ever seen one.
I dismiss this comment because your age and race are ambiguous and everything else! /S
Seriously though I kind of feel like Lemmy has at least some of that nostalgic feeling. Surfing through instances, finding that one semi-active obscure interest community you fit right in with. It's definitely not the same but nothing stays the same.
