Isn't that like the opposite of the purpose of big events like these?

Is there any "real" benefit to using it over MAL or anilist though? The main (and sole) public instance is riddled with more social media trackers than MAL itself.

Now, most "left, AKA the majority of reddit users, are just casual users using reddit like any other social media. And most are the kind of people that browse without any form of adblocking

The amount of people I've met who make the concious decision not to install even an adblocker is insane. Its a process that takes a minute at worst but they still refuse.

Stupid question from someone not into this sport at all. Why is there a division between men and women in this sport if the thing "actually" competing is a genderless vehicle?

Oh, no. Lawnchair has been back for a while now, they are rebuilding it from the ground up and deliver updates through their Telegram channel, though it still lacks a lot of the old features. LibreChair was a fork of the old LawnChair that aimed to replace the google centric features.
