That's because they didn't. Tucker Carlson and Fox were sued for libel over statements made by Carlson and Fox's lawyers said nobody thinks Tucker Carlson is a real journalist but an entertainer. They didn't claim they don't have news channels or journalists. Their claim was Tucker Carlson specifically is an entertainer and everybody watching Fox would know that since he was never referred to as a journalist.

The reason they used this defense is because opinions are free speech and you can't be sued for saying what you think about someone. However, journalists are assumed to be reporting facts not their opinions. Fox does their best to ensure their actual journalists aren't the ones directly making outrageous claims.

I always like articles saying this is unprecedented for South Korea, a country which has experienced a revolving door of coups and military dictatorships since it's creation up until 1997 when it had its first peaceful transition of power in history.

You hear the one about the COBOL programer? In 1999 many people were worried about a bug with dates that could crash their systems. Unfortunately, a lot of really important systems were still using the outdated COBOL programing language. A search was done to find someone who could fix these systems. The last programmer who knew COBOL was found and they made a lot of money fixing up these systems. So much money that, once they received a cancer diagnosis, they cyrogenically froze themselves hoping that a cure for their disease would be found in the future. The programmer is awoken one day in a lab filled with high tech robotics. A person who is seemingly half machine themseves stands before them. The programmer asks "Have you found a cure for my disease?". The person replies "We have cured all diseases. You are the COBOL programmer, correct?" "That's right" "Great! It is the year 9999 and we have a problem we need your help with."

Yeah it sounded like bullshit to me since humans are so energy efficient we can hunt by running after animals until they're exhausted. Seems like it's from this 2000 study published in Nature.

Penguins use twice as much calories moving around on land as other similar sized land animals. It was thought this was due to them being more adapted to swimming which resulted in them waddling when they walked on land which was inefficient.

Turns out that thought was only half true. They use more energy to get around on land because they're not adapted to walking, but waddling isn't the cause. Waddling is actually more energy efficient, for the speed penguins move at. The research suggested the excess energy use is due to the muscle fibers in their legs. Their short legs require powerful, but inefficient, muscles to support their large bodies. The waddling might actually be a way to cut down on their energy use while on land.

OP also made this post yesterday in this community which was just a screenshot of this comment they made replying to the user they're arguing with but this time their username was coloured out and changed to "a weird subset of people".

OP is just posting their arguments with another user.

The OP has recently spent some time arguing with another user. The commentary by the OP is this comment by them except they changed the username to "the person on the left".

Nobody is a terrible person. I just think it's hypocritical to say making posts like this isn't the exact type of behaviour the server admins have requested users not engage in.

The user you replied to with this comment that I can't actually quote because it breaks this community's rules.

especially with the person on the left’s days-long soapbox crashout about how despotic Ada is.

This is just generic commentary not directed at any user in particular?

You literally made a meme calling out a specific user. The meme explains that if you see a user behaving in a way you don't like to just report, ignore, and let the mods handle it instead of issuing vigilante justice.

Would you consider this post ignoring the user you don't like and letting the mods handle things or would it be vigilante justice?

Describing economic and political systems is tough because people have different interpretations of them and they can all be correct. Denmark and the US are both capitalist but their systems are incredibly different.

The simplest description that applies to all forms of communism but not to systems that aren't communist, is that the means of production (typically defined as land and capital) are state owned (with the intention that their use is decided democratically by the public).

Other descriptions could also apply but they're also not required. Like how a watch is still a watch whether or not it has a hand to indicate seconds.

So you can post this meme, but if I post the exact same meme with the speech bubbles reversed it will be removed for "gatekeeping". Do I understand that correctly?

avoid starting/continuing discourse offering your personal opinions about whether or not someone elses identity is valid, there are no bans.

The OP here is literally starting discourse offering their personal opinions about whether or not someone else's identity is valid.
