I highly recommend Yakuza 0. It's an origin story prequel for the series and personally I think it has by far the best storyline. It also has the caberet club minigame!

The guys be like, "I play Yakuza for the gritty depiction of organized crime", and then spend 12 hours giving women makeovers in the cabaret club minigame.

The code of Balatro is open source. Unzip your exe file and see that it's a bunch of lua source files in a trenchcoat.

The code is terribly written, so it'll probably take a while to find what you're looking for, but I once read through it check to see if Wheel of Fortune was actually a 1 in 4 chance. It is.

I doubt there is anything checking which deck you're using. Actual RNG is incredibly far from what our intuition about randomness is and it's made worse by many popular games having hidden pity systems to prevent streaks of bad luck. Balatro has no pity system. The game doesn't track if you missed Wheel of Fortune 6 times in a row. The next check is still 1 in 4.

I was just going to say my new PC was $5000 and $1,200 of that was the GPU.

My old PC could barely launch STALKER 2 so I decided it was time to upgrade. While picking out the parts I also decided I wanted to try using Linux as the OS. Then I got worried some of my games wouldn't work. I mean, would STALKER 2 even run on Linux? What about Monster Hunter? Surley these huge titles wouldn't have Linux support! They do. They work out of the box. It's amazing how far Linux support for gaming has come.

The headline makes it seem like it's just gamers but it's more about the overall gender divide in South Korea. It's a very interesting read. Men in South Korea feel like they're struggling to get by and women wanting fairer treatment is being seen as wanting to make things even more difficult for men. It seems like it's heading towards a tipping point.

I don't usually watch sad stuff so Welcome to the NHK is probably the saddest I've seen.

The charges for murder vary by State. Here's a New York lawyer explaining Murder 1 vs Murder 2 as it relates to New York State law. Murder 2 is regular premeditated murder. Murder 1 is murder with the intent of influencing or intimidating government ie. Terrorism. The lawyer in this interview suggests the Terrorism charge is, ironically, politically motivated, but it will be difficult to actually prove beyond a doubt that Luigi's intentions were to change government policies and not just get even with someone he disliked.

In most places murder 1 is premeditated murder and murder 2 is manslaughter. Murder 1 in New York is different.

I have never heard of "unconditional discharge" being a possible sentence for a crime. It's like they made it up just for Trump.
