Mike Tyson once said

Social media made y'all way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it.

I think it's a good reminder to people voicing disrespectful opinions that they might one day receive retribution for it.

That's the point. Less ice means shipping vessels can use the Northwest Passage as a way to navigate between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. If the territory is "owned" by a country, or a group of countries, all vessels can be charged a fee for using it just like the Panama and Suez Canals. Most northern countries have been fighting over ownership of the Northwest Passage for decades. Canada even moved native populations further north to strengthen their claim.

“If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks,” Mr. Trump said, as the crowd began to boo. He quickly added: “Although the Second Amendment people — maybe there is, I don’t know.”

That was my point. I didn't word it correctly. The fuck up is thinking someone can be protected from being shot by surrounding them with "good guys with guns". It's a flawed premise. The secret service didn't "fuck up", they performed as expected.

I see people are misunderstanding my comment. I'm saying the "good guys with guns" argument is bullshit and this proves it. Trump is surrounded by good guys with guns. They didn't help. Guns are the problem and anyone suggesting "good guys with guns" will stop gun violence is an idiot.

Nobody fucked up. This is how good guys with guns stop bad guys with guns. The bad guy shoots first. It's unrealistic to think it would happen any other way.

Edit: the secret service was created in 1901. Since their creation they have protected 21 presidents. 4 presidents under their protection have been shot. JFK, Roosevelt, Reagan, and Trump. That's a 19% failure rate. The bad guy shoots first.

That's not workplace drama, you've described interacting with people. It's difficult to say if it's always been like this but social media hasn't helped. People are now used to expressing their beliefs and opinions to everybody, no matter how polarizing or unpopular they might be. It's not limited to the workplace.

For not caring about what people think, just remember that nobody's opinion matters. Your favourite colour is yellow? Cool. You don't like Taylor Swift? Great. You think all atheists should be killed? Neat. Opinions are like points on Whose Line Is It Anyway. They're made up and they don't matter.

In America, getting shot gives one "street cred", which is invaluable when winning over the confidence of young voters.
