They're a marching band, I presume?

1080p

Literally unplayable

The rest of the post is a simile and doesn't matter. It's like ignoring this sentence you're reading right now since it doesn't actually matter and could be removed without changing my point.

As a labourer, I'm not sure I get the point of this post. Is the point that my job is bad? I lift things with a forklift, not my back. I also get paid more than the national average thanks to my union. Sex work can be normalized without putting down labourers.

Musk paid $44 billion in cash for Twitter. Billionaires only have wealth on paper until they want to buy a company, then magically they have the cash.

The leader of the official opposition has no power? During a minority government?

He controls the shadow cabinet, leads discussion during question period, has the right to meet with foreign dignitaries, gets to participate in government committees (and chairs several committees themselves), gets funding for staff and office space.

An independent gets 1 vote and a few minutes to speak during question period.

What this means is that the White House still overestimates how much the military is in their pocket

When their enemy is civilians, they only need a few willing soldiers. China ordered several army units to use deadly force against protesters in Tiananmen Square. Several generals denied the order. Whole squads threw their wepons into the river and deserted. The Square was still covered in the blood of thousands. A few loyal soliders in tanks is all that's needed. The generals and soldiers who denied the order were court maritaled.

I'm not sure why leaders of political parties should be given a free pass. If you can't win an election because so many people dislike you, maybe you shouldn't be the leader?

I also doubt in this case that the hyper conservative riding suddenly has a change of heart and votes Liberal or NDP. The only real threats are the independent local candidates. Even then, I doubt they'll win. Poilievre explained in the debate that an independent doesn't have much power to do anything, so if they want actual change they should vote for him. Unfortunately, that is pretty accurate.

Absolutely no one should respect a billionaire who fucks over others to slightly see her numbers go up. She didn't need that money from cheating, but she did it anyways and fucked over everyone else.

To add some concrete numbers. Martha Stewart's net worth is about $400,000,000 and the insider trading was to avoid losing $40,000 in stock value. In other words, she fucked people over to avoid losing 0.01% of her wealth.

kronii being misogynistic

Only on days that end in Y

because apparently the constitution is detailed enough to specify things like that.

It's impossible for laws to include every single possible detail. Lawyers and judges exist to apply generic laws to specific cases. In this case, a lawyer argued that removing bike lanes creates a saftey issue and since the constitution says the government must protect "life and security of the person", removing bike lanes goes against the constitution. The judge agreed with the argument.

I've recently started using the Boost for Lemmy app on my phone and it's amazing. I was using Liftoff before but I'm switching over. However, I've noticed an issue. When I browse through communities using Liftoff I see a lot more posts and comments than when I use Boost.

I figured this was an issue with Boost at first, but when I used my computer to edit these screenshots I noticed the same thing happens in my browser!

Opening up https://lemmy.world/c/boostforlemmy I see all the posts that Liftoff shows. Of course I'm not logged in since my account is on Lemmy.ca.

When I log into Lemmy.ca and view the community though: https://lemmy.ca/c/boostforlemmy@lemmy.world I only see the posts that Boost shows! Many posts are now missing!

I figured this is an issue with Lemmy.ca blocking stuff. But wait! The most recent post (titled "Bug: Hiding all read posts also hides...") has the URL https://lemmy.world/post/6954944 which, of course, does not allow me to comment on since I'm not logged in. If I search for that post through Lemmy.ca I find the equivalent post with the URL: https://lemmy.ca/post/7377534 which now allows me to comment on it through my Lemmy.ca account.

Does any one know what's going on here? Clearly Lemmy.ca can "see" all the posts in the BoostForLemmy community on Lemmy.world. Even Liftoff manages to show all of them! So why does my browser and Boost for Lemmy not show everything unless I specifically search it out?
