Which is kind of the original point of Kickstarter. It was meant to be used to fund projects that don't necessarily have great commercial prospects, but still have an audience that would like that thing to exist. That's why you don't invest in something on Kickstarter, you back it. Investors expect ROI; backers do it for the public good.
