If Cody himself comes out and says something like that, and condemns Trump in the strongest possible terms, I might accept it. Until then, Cody was at a Trump rally.
ImADifferentBird
So, uh, Cody Rhodes, the Street Profits, and Tiffany Stratton opened for Trump's fascist army rally.
So, again, fuck WWE. And fuck Cody in particular. He has the clout, he could have said no.
Saw some new details I wasn't aware of anymore: Mariah May apparently took a 75% pay cut for this shit.
Wrestlers need to get out of this mindset that WWE is "the dream", because it's really looking like a nightmare.
I feel like, if they saw the value in her name, they would have worked out some kind of licensing agreement or something so she could retain ownership and they could still use it. They've done it for plenty of other wrestlers.
And it's telling how WWE is the only promotion with this "we must own your name" gimmick. Even other major promotions, like AEW and NJPW, somehow manage to promote talent without having to rename them.
Wow. They really just do not care about women's wrestling at all, huh?
Honestly, if any incoming woman should have kept her name and gone straight to the main roster, it's Mariah fucking May, who came in directly from being a main event talent for AEW. The fact that she's being treated like this says so goddamn much.
Doesn't Bret Hart tell a similar story about Warrior?
I mean, both are probably true. Both men are/were massive dicks, and also racist
I hear you there. I actually made the choice not to go to All In this year, even though I could have made the drive, because it's in Texas and I don't think I would feel safe there. I mean, I'm not transitioning, I'm just genderfluid, but it's not like bigots are picky, you know?
But I do applaud the decision to support Dallas Pride, because if anybody needs help right now, it's LGBTQ+ organizations in Texas.
Yeah yeah, rainbow capitalism and all that, but honestly, in a year when so-called "allies" seem all too eager to abandon the LGBTQ community, it's nice to see AEW still trumpeting their involvement with Pride, supporting Dallas Pride monetarily, and giving LGBTQ performers a stage.
Now they just need to get Nyla Rose back on TV, because goddamn I love her.
That's a country where being brown is dangerous, not being straight.
Though being the straight partner to a brown person can be dangerous here (even if you yourself are not brown), so I guess it does work in a way.
Slightly disappointed RJ didn't touch on Zach's appearance on American Ninja Warrior. I feel like they could have gotten something out of that.
I'm of two minds here. On the one hand, Kevin Kelly is a piece of shit and his claims have about zero merit to them (the Tate twins might have a bit more, since it was the CEO of the company badmouthing them publicly, but there's still not really much there). On the other, I'm opposed to mandatory binding arbitration just on general principle. Everyone deserves their day in court.
