Fair, but ET was such an awful debacle that it killed Atari as a company and paved the way for Japanese companies to take over the entire market for the next couple of decades.
Now it's just business as usual.

That's the thing. I'm pretty sure OP meant 911, not 9/11.
Game updates bring bad with the good, because devs often rely on them to deliver a full, playable game.
When you bought a game back in the day, you got a full, playable game on the media. It wasn't always bug-free, because... you know... it's software, but they had to at least quash all the showstoppers without the benefit of a Day 1 patch.
And don't get me started about DRM...
The existence of one bad actor doesn't make the principle any less true.
Kbin has long since surpassed what Ernest is capable of handling by himself. Either he's going to have to learn to delegate, or it's going to collapse under its own weight.

Or that promo for the Mox fight, where he told him, "You can be the heart and soul of AEW, I'm the dollars and cents."

Seriously, I hate this attitude that the money is the most important thing. It's such a fucking sellout attitude.
He is doing an excellent job, and I do not mean to denigrate his work when I say the task is beyond any one person, no matter how talented and dedicated. Look at the issues that went on recently while Ernest was indisposed, and we had months of federation issues that led to communities migrating away and Kbin.social getting defederated by other instances.
This project is getting too large for any one person, and it's far too important to have one point of failure. And even someone as great as Ernest needs an understudy.
Good for him. Kinda sad that he won't be returning to AEW though.
