Google got rid of thousands of employees in the last 5 years and this asshole gets half a billion dollars...

oh crap, actually you made me realize that YouTube is going to be full of AI playthrough videos soon. 😫

Wait until Mircrosoft finds out you can watch playthrough videos on YouTube without having to buy the game.

I am really interested in where this project goes.

ESP32 projects are low powered. Not everything needs 5G and the latest Snapdragon.

I don't really understand this article's title. Third party app stores are available with their own payment or donation methods already.

Elsewhere, the tech giant is also introducing a new 'program' that aims to make sideloading 'qualified' app stores an easier affair. Third-party app stores that meet certain quality and safety benchmarks will boast a simplified installation flow, as seen in the image below.

Having 'qualified' app stores and 'qualified' apps gives Google more control, not less. The third party app stores available can now be blocked on devices.

It's worth noting that the 'Registered App Store program' will begin outside the US first. It will expand to the US in the future, subject to court approval.

The EU's policies on data is sickening.

However, one key feature that apparently won’t make the leap to the Mac is Face ID, despite it being a vital part of the iPhone’s Dynamic Island. Gurman’s report makes no mention of Face ID, and it looks like Mac users will have to stick to Touch ID for the time being – especially considering Gurman previously claimed that Face ID on the Mac is “years away” from being realized.

Not ideal since you can't easily sort by folder hierarchy but you can see your root files in All Notes.

Thank you for the explanation.

I will continue to use it and provide feedback. So far, really great.

I nearly take all my notes in markdown. I am always excited to try another open source markdown program.

HelixNotes is super polished.

Thanks!

Interesting. Thank you for the info.

Me again. Last time tonight, I promise.

My favorite features so far, making the edit toolbar disappear in source mode and Focus mode. Quick access is also really useful.

One more thing I don't like, it was adding a header to my edited notes.

Example:

***
id: "9242199e-992b-4c58-9b4f-85a6949d424d"
title: "Books"
tags: []
pinned: false

modified: 2026-02-15T04:32:17.240423+00:00
***

This doesn't look great in MacOS preview. This might be one of those things that it was simplest to just add this directly to the file rather than creating some kind of database or a bunch of dot files. Again, not a deal breaker for me. Would adding it to the bottom be possible instead?

Thank you.

Hi OP. I am really enjoying using HelixNotes.

I love the way it looks and all the features. I was able to use the same folder I use MarkFlowy and Marknote.

My only critique is the Ctrl key in Windows and Linux menu shortcuts is usually changed to Cmd for Mac. It really isn't a big deal but I think a lot of Mac users will notice this instantly. I tried creating an note with Cmd + N since is the default for all other Mac apps. I saw the Shortcuts in the Info section and I was hoping you could customize the Keyboard Shortcuts, but you can't.

It isn't a big deal with me. So far I am enjoying this more than MarkFlowy and Marknote. If you don't change for whatever reason, I understand and I will continue to use your HelixNotes.

Again thank you for your work.

Really cool commercials. I like them a lot.

Here is the Legendary Justin Wong trying them out: I HAD TO GO EAT MCDONALDS IN JAPAN BECAUSE OF STREET FIGHTER!! [YouTube Link]

Security researchers have discovered an arbitrary account takeover flaw in Subaru's Starlink service that could let attackers track, control, and hijack vehicles in the United States, Canada, and Japan using just a license plate.

Curry says Subaru patched the vulnerability within 24 hours of the researchers' report and was never exploited by an attacker.

A North Korean threat group has been using a technique called RID hijacking that tricks Windows into treating a low-privileged account as one with administrator permissions.

The CloudSEK researchers disrupted the botnet by utilizing hard-coded API tokens and a built-in kill switch to uninstall the malware from infected devices.
