People have tried this for ages. It has not worked. These bigots are not debating in good faith. The only response is the verbal or legal equivalent of bapping them on the nose with a newspaper and going, "NO! BAD!"
Debate does not work if they are not arguing in good faith
That does seem more realistic than them allowing people to take their wealth. I swear they are like dragons - They'll cling to their hoard even if it means their death

I am on disability and can easily live on it
I still work because it turns out I like to feel useful, even if I can't contribute fully
The vast majority want to feel useful, few will choose to just subsist on UBI. Even outside my own anecdote, this has been proven with every single UBI experiment
I give him a bit of a pass, only because of the brain worm. Really have no idea what functions that worm messed up - Empathy, reasoning, etc.
Everybody around him gets zero pass though since the literally brain damaged old fart has to be getting ideas from somewhere
